You plan to mix it when you get it? That's my preferred way to enjoy those two.

I remember lucking out and walking into a small town Mississippi store that had 6 jps18 for $99 sitting on the shelf...those days are long gone

I ordered mine online from a shop in New Jersey because they had put them on sale for $69.99 with $20 shipping if you bought 5 or more.

I have slowly, over the last 10 years moved more and more to Islay scotches. I did not care so much for the Uegeadal. The Ardbeg 10 is nice and you might compare those two. I wind Ardbeg in general to be more salty than Lagavulin. Check out Caol Ila 12 too.

This is a good brand. I have had the 12 and the 17 both excellent. Super smooth and not an over abundance of sherry. Enjoy, Slainte!

Anybody received their makers mark gift for this season yet? They definitely put some effort into making this one it seems.

They have at least 6 bottles of the Blanton's picks left.
They also have 750 and 1.75s of their Buffalo Trace pick and 2 1.75s left of the Eagle Rare pick.

They will also be getting an Elijah Craig pick in tomorrow but the manager didn't have the info on it.

I'm in for blantons (if there are any not accounted for), BT (750) and EC. I'll be at the raffle.

Yep, mixing is the plan. Only unopened OWA that I have is a 1.75 so I'll either have to buy the big W12 or measure out 750 from the OWA.

Alright so here's the update from the Covington Acquistapaces:

They are out of the barrel pick Blantons but the Mandeville location still has some. I will fill as many of these requests as I can based on their availability and in order of being requested on here.

In addition they have the following in Covington:

Russell's Reserve
Whistlepig 10
WT Kentucky Spirit
Bernheim Wheat (I'd advise against this but it's your funeral)
Kelsey Creek

And if anyone has had difficulty getting an OF1920 they had 4 bottles on the shelf.

I'll update again tomorrow when I can get to the Mandeville location to see what they have.

As promised, the Mandeville update:

They have at least 6 bottles of the Blanton's picks left.
They also have 750 and 1.75s of their Buffalo Trace pick and 2 1.75s left of the Eagle Rare pick.

They will also be getting an Elijah Craig pick in tomorrow but the manager didn't have the info on it.

Also, if anyone likes lambics they have a few Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze.

Alright gentlemen, I'm gonna have to close out orders tomorrow at 5pm since I'll be leaving straight from work on Thursday for the raffle.

As it stand I have the following orders:

theBeard - Blanton's, EC
Wickowick - Blanton's, EC
jflsufan - Blanton's
SngMaltScotch - Blanton's, BT(750), EC

Question: Have any of you seen Canadian Club 12 Year anywhere? Trying to locate some for my grandfather. He's not a big drinker but when he did drink, it was his go to over the years. He doesn't have much time left so my parents gave me the task of locating some. My dad checked all the local BR stores and couldn't find any.

Has anyone had both the 2013 and 2014 AECS and have an opinion on them, including which is preferred?

I have the 2013 and the 2016. I'd really like to get the 2014 and thinking about trading the 2013 for it, but would like to hear comparison reviews first.

Not sure. I want one for each of my sons' birth years (2014 and 2016) to hopefully save for them when they get older.

If 2013 is that much better, I might keep it and make up some reason why my oldest's bottle is from the year before.

eta:
Based on what I've been able to find online, it seems like each year was worse than the one before it.

that's what i was thinking....

sell the '16 AECS and find a 4RSBLE from '14 and '16, or something like that

Sucks for little brother, I guess.

Not to mention the 2013 box is legit oak, while the 2016 one, though it has a cool "window," seems more cheaply crafted.

Is this the same type of store pick that you're getting for people?
