Question, that I'm sure has been asked but I can't find it.

Is that LA 1 whiskey worth a shite or is it just sold out all the time cause it's local?

The distillery that made LA1 shut down a few years ago. From what I understand a couple doctors that just decided to shut it down instead of selling it. They also made Rougaroux rum, oryza vodka and gin and maybe some other things I don’t know off the top of my head. It’s not great but I’ve had worse. I actually saw bottle hanging out at the Rouses in Youngsville still.

Wild. I saw some came out last week and it looked like it was by Bayou Terrebonne Distillers. It was called LA1 last batch, but that shite sold out quick.

I hadn’t seen that “last batch” la1 before. I looked that distillery up and it says it was distilled by Donner Peltier Distillers. That is the one closed for good now. So idk if they have there last barrels of aged stock to them or what. Not sure what bottle I saw at rouses now i saw it in passing. The bottles look a little different but I didn’t pay that much attention. You live in the laffy area?

Edit to add after a little more looking that seems to be the case. Once the barrels are empty it’s gone. I don’t know if there is going to be more releases, I saw where they said they can’t bottle it all at once on there FB page but that was 22w ago.

TA - long time lurker I don’t post much here but read and enjoy the conversations. I have learned about store picks because you all. Would you have any of your bottles left? I am returning to NOLA tomorrow and would love to get 1 or 2 if possible. I can’t fine Saz here in shelf in East TN only Virginia.

Still haven’t tried the Saz from ya. Going for dry January and possibly all of February. Good thing is that I’ll have a lot of new stuff to try by then

If it was priced at $25 I’d tell you that you could buy worse but even at $25 it’s nothing special. At the going rate of $50....I’ll just say I’m not sure who was in charge of marketing at that distillery to value it at that but it’s nowhere close to a $50 bourbon. Just not good.

I’d actually love some ET Lee but it seems like it’s easier to find PVW 15 than it is Etl

I was just saying that I would assume (and I may be wrong), that Weller 12 is worth more than Hancock, you could possibly trade Weller 12 for Elmer.
