I'd love to get the entire Balvenie line at some point. I got this Caribbean cask for $56.99 at Total Wine when it first opened but now prices are so high I've just gone back to only buying bourbon.

I haven’t had a bad one.

I’ve currently got the Carribean Cask, Double Wood 17 and the Port Wood 21.

I like the Double Wood 17 a little better than the 12, but it’s almost twice the price.

Mine as well. I’ve got a local shop where I can get it, but they’ve gone to $75 for the small batch and that’s a little too much for me. Luckily I stocked up on some when they were mid $40 range.

I haven’t found a consistent source for it, but I’d still be tempted at $75.

I would only hit them every month and a half or two months as to not be greedy. Single barrel used to be $75 when I would get it. I’m scared to ask what it is now.

I still like Greenspot better, but this is damn good. Makes buying the standard RB12 a piece of history. Blows that away.

This is very rich with an incredible finish. I like it plenty. It’s just the Greenspot has such a unique bright apples flavor to it that wins me over every time.

Both fantastic bottles though.

Hey everyone! I've been lurking this thread for the last few weeks as a replacement to the Q thread. This one is not as active but is more friendly and the riddles are solvable. I think I've got about 75% of the vernacular down now.

Just polished off a bottle of ER and gonna move to BT. No pics cause my bottles aren't single barrel I don't have cool glasses like everyone else and I'm self-conscious about that.

I'm a relative newby to bourbon but have fallen in love since tasting my first sip of ER. With that in mind, can you guys help a brother out?

I read the taste profile of ER and I can kind of get the toffee and leather profiles. But I overwhelmingly taste apple when I drink it. Does anyone else taste that? Any aficionados able to explain why I might taste apple when it's no where in the listed taste profile?

Be gentle, it's my first time.

Haha. Man everyone grabs different flavors from bottles. We all could describe it a million ways but when everyone agrees it’s a good pour, then those are the bottles you want. ER is definitely one of those. The apples are basically the fruity flavor you are pulling and when you taste it you think apples. If you can get a hold of a barrel pick bottle of ER from a retailer who picks good barrels, you may pick up on a bunch more flavor. Tiger Attorney had some barrel pick bottles of ER that a lot of us on this site got. The bottle is legendary. Lol. Some still have some left. I unfortunately have been out way too long. Enjoy the pours man. No description is wrong.
