Which New Orleans restaurant is killing it right now?

I need a dinner spot Saturday night that had great food and cool atmosphere. I’ve been to most places other than new places opened within the last year. What’s cool and putting out really good food right now?

Like people literally dying killing it or making good food killing it?

Thanks I was thinking about Costera. I haven't been to August in years but that may be an option too. I heard they were putting out great food recently.

Believe the owners/chefs are opening a new place. Think it may be an Italian joint

Mister Mao is pretty good, but it is hard for me to say that everyone will like it.

I went there the weekend they started the vax mandate documentation thing. That left a very sour taste in my mouth so I have a hard time going there. It's just psychological as the food was good from what I recall.

I just held a spot at San Lorenzo at Hotel Saint Vincent. It's too early but the other options were 'outdoor dining' for Saturday. I'll keep looking.

Costera was so good a few weeks ago. Get the tasting menu / feed me.

I've had 3 bad experiences at the Chloe and am done. Surly wait staff, long waits for food, overly salty, etc.

I think there is a serious management issue there. Wife (no pics) and I went there a few weeks ago and ran into the same problem. The place was half-empty and they told us that there was a wait. Then it turns out there is a staff shortage. Then they tell us we can sit over here, but not order food. Then a girl comes and takes our food order anyway.

Was kind of a mess. The waitress was really nice and apologetic but forewarned us that that the place was an utter disaster.

Really important for me - if the staff warns you that things are in disarray, it manages my expectations and gives me a clear chance to walk, no hard feelings. I sincerely appreciated that. I made sure she was taken care of for giving it an honest try and communicating well with us.

I do not know about killing it but, My new place is Em Trai in Metairie. Pulled pork is awesome, lemon grass pork or chicken is great, fried shrimp is perfect, the pho is made from scratch, etc. tasted his homemade peanut butter and jelly ice cream sandwich was impressive.
