Didn't notice this the first time. Probably would have to do Cooter Browns (will be 95%+ LSU fans), or Bruno's if you get there early enough. They have some big tables and a fairly sizeable, but not overwhelming crowd during games. And they're not at the Rusty Nail level, but they usually do have Bama fans in there.

Any time I've tried to go to Cooter's on a Saturday, if you wanted a table for like 4 people (forget 20, fricking lol), we had to get there at like 1130. That place is a mad house on Saturdays.

No, Bruno's. Lots of tables, plus TVs outside with more seating IIRC. It's been 3 or 4 years since I've been, but during games, even if there is no seating left, I've never been unable to get to the bar or anything like that.

Yeah, Bruno's may not be too bad. Of course, as you sort of allude to, you have to deal with the few uptown assholes who will probably be there, who think they're special because their parents sent them to Bama instead of LSU.

Ah, I was thinking they had it in the upper corner near the overhang, but I must be thinking of another place since I just remembered that they only have that small fence separating it from the outside folk.

Went to Brunos for a beer before the LSU/Tenn game last weekend and there was plenty of seating still available about 15 min before kickoff. They also set up additional tables and chairs. Not every TV was planning on having the LSU game on (what bartender said before I left for the Boot).

Were you at the Boot for the TN game with the party or on your own?

don't go to the Rusty Nail. overrun with Bama folks considering it's their official NOLA bar.

hit up Rendezvous on Magazine. tons of TVs that will have the game on, pretty cheap drinks (decent selection of beers) and it won't be uber crowded with tourists.

You skeered him off, dammit.

Tree, if you return, I was invited by the groom and I wrote about it on page 1 of this thread. Had a blast. Hope you did, too.

Yeah, I heard the hosts talking about the ticket thing. It wasn't what they expected at all. Seemed to work out eventually, though. I was drinking liquor so it didn't affect me. Otherwise, I thought the place worked out great. I don't think we left until about 10. The groom looks terrific. We had a good time visiting at the bar. I got all teary eyed when he was at the alter in his dress blues.

Good call. Rendevouz added some new televisions as well.

Anyone have opinions on bourbon street blues? That's what the word is on where we are going. As of right now, at least.
