Hey guys, I am coming in to Baton Rouge for the UGA game and was wondering if anyone could give any suggestions to the best place to get crawfish etouffee. Thanks

Chimes is pretty good, even though it is cream of mushroom based

I will be roundhoused for this, but Piccadilly makes a pretty good etouffee'.

Well, that is the only restaurant I can ever remember getting etouffee from. I love to make my own because it is so easy and delicious. That is why I don't try it at other restaurants.

It's as good as any and better than most but I'm not much of an Etouffee person anyway. I'm more of a crawfish stew kind of person.

Acme Oyster House makes a good Etouffe...least the New Orleans location does so I would assume it would just as good unless the cook in BR sucks.

Piccadilly does make a good etouffee, but they're not consistent...If you're going to a restaurant for a sit-down meal, Chimes would definitely be the place.

do you have a good recipe for crawfish stew, using only 1 or 2 lbs of tails?

Etouffee is by far my favorite food, so I pretty much order it wherever I go. Piccadilly does have a good one, so does Capital City Grill.

No. I'd have to agree on Piccadilly...it's my favorite. Chimes is second. I have not lived in BR for many years, so I have not tried some of the newer places.

Nowhere, this time of year. You're going to get it made with frozen crawfish, and that just ain't really worth it, in my opinion.

Yes, unfortunately, the imported seafood curse is alive and well. Hell, if it exists in La., the rest of the nation is doomed. I cannot even find non-imported shrimp up here. This past weekend, I went to the store on the search for frozen catfish fillets. I found a nice package of fillets with an American flag picture and the brand name of "American Seafood." Small print on the bottom of the package read "Raised in China."
