Headed to Philadelphia this week for a wedding. Leaving Thursday morning and coming back Sunday afternoon.
1st time there so looking for recs on food joints (any cheesesteak musts?) and also craft beer bars. Not too familiar with the scene up there.
Thanks

Avoid cheesesteaks
A horrible invention
Roast beef poorboy with melted Swiss over provolone is superior to any beef sandwich in philly

Bad advice here. Just avoid Pat’s/Geno’s
Try Tony Lukes (or get a DeNic’s roast pork)

Cheesesteaks are overrated in Philly, you have to go to Reading Terminal Market, there have to be a hundred places to eat in there, it’s a huge food court, and you have to go to the Italian Market, go to Vila de Roma, but bring cash only, everything is great at Vila

I already said this in your TB post, but South Philly Barbacoa. I want to go there very badly but haven't made my way to Philly yet.

I was just there for a few days. Had three cheesesteaks and none were anything to write home about, especially John's Roast Pork. If you must, do Jim's.
Dinic's was the superior roast pork sammy.
Royal Boucherie was legit, Tired Hands Biergarten if it's still open in the fall is an easier place to get to than the brewery, and Pizzeria Beddia was good.
Bud & Marilyn's brunch was really good, but don't get their world famous-bloody mary. I can't stand breakfast pastries, but their cinnamon roll was ridiculous.

Under no circumstances try this...it's terrible. But do go to The Reading Terminal Market!

Dinic's Roast Pork with Broccoli Rabe and provolone
Afterwards, get an apple fritter from the Amish/Menonite whatever donut place in Reading Market.
Zahav is really good if you want upscale Israeli/Mediterranean like Shaya
Had a really good meal at Barbuzzo also

GO get lost in Reading Terminal Market and try everything.
If you like Sushi and want to spend some money try the chef's pairing at Morimoto's.
Overall there's a lot of great places out there

I think the best cheesesteak is Tony Lukes, 39 East Oregon Ave.
