Need a casual Friday dinner

Looking for a knock your socks off type place for Saturday dinner

Tried Girl & Goat but no availability. Bavette steakhouse as well. Just want good food in solid atmosphere. Doesn’t necessarily have to be fancy

Sunday breakfast

Staying by south loop

I’ve got a brother in law that lives there on the north side. He raves about lashuk street food. Israeli cuisine

Little Goat is good if you can’t get into Girl.

Au Cheval is always good.

I don’t think he’s getting into Alinea on short notice.

You can always walk in to Girl & Goat and ask to sit at the bar. Or ask if someone cancelled. Worked for me.

Same for Au Cheval. Seats on the end are first come first serve. The seats stay open for what seemed like forever.

I’ve had some really fantastic meals at Purple Pig. Try them out.

If you aren’t looking fine dining, Public House is a really decent “upscale” sports bar. Nice set up and the menu is definitely better than your average sports bar.

Check out Galit. It’s run by the guy who ran Shaya back when it was good.

Bavette has a fcfs bar where you can grab seats and order. You won't be disappointed. Best meal I've had in 18 years living here.

It was very good... The other partner comes from the One Off group (publican, big star, blackbird, etc.)..

I had a really nice meal at Bouefhaus. Steak but not necessarily Chicago mahogany steakhouse, more European. Very good. Great apps.

Duck Duck Goat as suggested was really good as well.

Publican also a great spot. Sort of Cochon esque in food and ambiance. Also had a lovely lunch at Frontera Grill.

Chicago also a great bar town let me know if need recs in that regard.
