But they just don't innovate the way the US brewers do. If you like a variety of different styles done at a world class level, the US is the place to be. Hell, the US has resurrected several belgian styles and the german Gose. I'm not sure you can even find a Gose in Germany.

I agree with you. Germany may lack the overall variety that the US has now, but they can more than make up for it in quality. What they do, they do very well.
Belgium is still probably my favorite country for beer.
the US has pretty much become a league of their own when it comes to variety. That has its pros and cons, but definitely no country in the world right now can match the diversity of what American beer has to offer.

Right. It's hard to measure them against each other because the markets are so different. On the one hand you have breweries that have been brewing and perfecting their beers for hundreds of years and have been governed by purity laws. On the other you have a vibrant, innovative industry that takes chances and is creating new beers every day.

This thread was much more entertaining on the OT.
Just saying.

I've been into sour beers lately and this is my favorite. It's like drinking a salty Sour Patch Kid.

Bass Ale or Guinness for me.
Not a fan of any of the syrupy flavored girly beers.

That's weird, quick google search says they close at 8:00pm on Saturdays.

What kind of fricking taproom closes at 8?
A few of my favorites (most of which are hard/impossible to get)
- Bourbon County Backyard Rye
- Central Waters Eighteen
- Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Lord
My favorite (more) easily attained:
- Regular Bourbon County
- Better Half
- Backwoods Bastard
- VSOJ (Very Special Old Jacket) - Revolution Brewing
That being said, I'm not one to look down on a Miller Lite. I'll regularly put down 130 ounces of the stuff at the bar watching the Packers on a fall Sunday.
