I've never worked in the restaurant industry, or in fast food. The people working at Popeyes always seem to be the most miserable people in fast food. Why is that? Are the working conditions at a Popeyes that much worse than a Wendys?

Is it the menu? They always seem to be out of whatever flavor chicken I want, and I have to pull forward. Is that the problem? Why not go all in for a middle of the road spicy/mild mix and throw the seasoning packets in each bag for those who want it extra spicy.

Should they take shrimp and fish off the menu to simplify their offerings and take some load off the cooks?

What are they doing wrong inside the restaurant or corporate culture? Their food is great, I'm not knocking the food. The whole Popeye's experience is miserable, though. If they had half the customer service as CF'A they'd be the number 1 chicken joint in the world by a mile.

I understand where you're coming from though. I've told people before that the worst part about eating Popeyes is that you actually have to go to a Popeyes to get it.

The employees will work to the standards management places before them. Popeyes has very low standards.

I'm guessing it's their pay schedule. Generally with employees, you get what you pay for.

Burger King is the same way.

management.

if the person in charge isn't willing to get their hands dirty and hold people accountable, then you get what you always see at popeyes.

their reputation for doing whatever they want bc they know people are going to tolerate it for their delicious chicken is troublesome.

can you imagine how much money they're leaving on the table bc they're lazy? I would love some popeyes chicken from time to time, but I refuse to go.

I worked at Pizza Hit for many years, and all of us were making minimum wage or very close to it, and things were fast, friendly, and efficient… then PH franchised it out to Lundy Enterprises, and they made many of their own hires, and it went to shite. Hmmm

I've come to appreciate the mediocre service at Popeye's. It adds a little charm to the experience.

Though a recent trip there I had to wait about 10 minutes for dat spicy, and when I got my food it wasn't dat spicy. Yes, they cooked a whole batch of regular thinking it was spicy. I just laughed and ate my regular and chalked it up to part of the Popeye's experience.

I visit the Popeyes in Jena Louisiana a few times a year. Its run by a different demographic than what is typical in the South. Its amazing.

Popeyes food sucks.

But their employees are the reason I don’t go there anymore.

Interestingly, both the Popeye's brand and BK are owned by the same holding company, Restaurant Brand International...
