What’s your favorite dish there? I was thinking about ordering to-go

Then I can't wait for a high end meal at somewhere like Gauteaus. I'm not getting any real nice stuff during this "to-go" only period.

SO's birthday is Monday, and trying to decide how to do this. Might just order a lot of takeout from Umami. Hard to justify ordering from somewhere "special occasion" when so much of the reason for going to those places is the experience.

The other day my wife had a bad day. I went to Martin Wine Cellar and got a cheese tray that had three cheeses and all the little extras. We sat outside and drank a bottle of wine.
It felt kind of like a special meal.

I remember after Katrina a friend of mine called me at about 6:00 one evening and said that Clancy's was re- opening that night, that he had 8:00 reservations for 4 and that the other couple he was going with couldn't go. He asked if we wanted to go and we jumped at the chance. There was a Mardi Gras like atmosphere on the corner of Webster and Annunciation. Most people couldn't get in to the restaurant but the bar was doing a booming go cup business. It was quite a party and the food was great as usual.
