These fancy, taquerias that charge $6+ for two-bite sized tacos topped with things like grasshoppers, kimchi, sesame seeds, etc.

It's funny. Sipping rums and ciders have been big in other cities for some time. You see them gaining popularity in other places after its been a thing in NYC for years.
Toast spots are going to be a thing. I thin k the next big ethnic cuisine to go mainstream will be african influenced.

A heavenly pizza joint that's fast casual. Some would say a chipotle/subway/izzos but for pizza. Freshish ingredients - can get all the toppings you want with no extra charges (including meats).
Tastes really good. I fell in love with the place when I realized I could get a huge, tasty pizza and a beer for $12. Absolute win. Only two locations in LA though - New Orleans and Lafayette.

I think you're going to see a lot of fast food eateries go out of business. Particularly fried chicken places. Have you seen their prices lately? It's rapidly approaching $2 a piece and the pieces keep getting smaller.
Hell, even a Quarterpounder meal is over $7. And apparently the fast food companies have settled on $5 being the sweet spot for price, but you really don't get much for that price.

With fast food restaurants offering healthier choices, you can only expect food in restaurants to reflect further reductions in additives, GMO's and preservatives. I'd expect this to transfer into the bar market more as well, with fresh juice and "clean" ingredients.

It's a pizza place with really fresh ingredients that you tell them to assemble your pizza how you like it.
Think of izzos, chipotle, etc for pizza. Fresh dough, fresh cheese, fresh veggies. 7.99 for build your own and you can put everything they have on it, unlimited toppings. I eat half for a meal. Solid deal and I've never pee'd out of my butt from it.

I mean eventually the prices are going to have to go up due to inflation. They can't stay $5 forever unless they have a drastic drop off in food quality.
