What is your serving style for crawfish boils?

A) Dump the pot on a table and everyone goes to town
B) Ice chest with scoop + individual trays for each guest
I've been B forever and it irrationally pisses me off when I go to boils that do A
idk why

This. Gets everyone together around the pile and the socializing continues.

I have a pirogue I put on a table and let people scoop into their own trays.

I have two crawfish tables (tall table with a hole in the middle for trash can) and on those we usually just scoop some so it goes all around the whole.
Beyond that usually just use trays? Why? Because that's what my wife likes =)

i mean you're either standing at a table with a bunch of people or you're sitting at a table with a bunch of people

It's easier just just have a table with a pile everyone grabs from. You just stand around the table and eat.
I used scoops and trays one time and it's when we boiled 300 pounds for an event for a bunch of people who don't eat crawfish. I just stood by the table and ate mine.

Individual trays for each guest. No matter how fast people are eating, the crawfish will get cold on the table.

A. We have trays out, but those are where most people put their shells for easy separation from the uneaten pile and easy dumping into trash. No crawfish ever hits an ice chest besides when they're being cleaned with water pre-boil.
EDIT - Although I do like the idea of ice chest keeping them hot..
But wouldn't be worth it. The chest would be emptied in one round with maybe 1-2 scoops left, so it is an unnecessary step at my house.

Most of the time, A, but I can go either way.

Dump them on the table and let them go at it. No sense making it more trouble that what it already is with trays to deal with in the end.
Oh, and all my tables for boils are those folding plastic ones, so it's a hose, some dish soap and a sponge to clean up.

Good point. Ate crawfish with someone recently who BLEW through them, but didn't suck or dig the fat out of a single head or eat a single claw. I was internally irate that he was inhaling crawfish at 3x the rate of everyone else, yet wasting so much of the good stuff.
