They're going to eat the same amount regardless of how you present it. But at least you know you're being irrational about it

Its the same assholes who shovel a shared appetizer into their mouths instead of following common courtesy and taking whatever splits it evenly around the table.

Depends. A lot of time it’s just about 4 of us with 2 being females so I dump in the big ice chest with a scoop and individual trays. Keep the chest cracked open. If it’s a bigger group that’s going to kill the sack quickly then dump on the table.

im surprised to see so many As, must be a regional thing. Growing up in Lafayette, seems like everyone did B. Here in BR, it's mostly A

Yeah, but I get his point. We pour on the table, but I'm somewhat being convinced of trays here. If you have your own full tray, you know you at least get that much to yourself in one go without someone racing to inhale them before you.

Are your boils like 1 sack for 40 people?

I've never not gotten my fill or seen anyone not get theirs at a boil.

B all the way. Keeps the crawfish hot, keeps the peelings out of the crawfish, and gives you some portion control so your greedy cousin can be called out when he's already on his fourth tray before most people have finished their first mini corn cob.

It also is easier for people to sit with a tray in their laps, if they want to sit in the shade under a tree, on the lawn, or next to Taunte Mathilde and peel a few for les vieuxs whose arthritic hands aren't what they used to be.

Well, my own house is a bit better. However, even at my own house, the 1st batch gets the immediate crowd. Once people start backing away, I get in, but it is usually cold by then. So I see where an ice chest could be beneficial. I love when the crawfish is piping hot. Not really a fan once it has cooled.

At the boil I went to recently that was mostly 20s-30s men and one table, a tray would have at least gotten me more than the 8 crawfish I think I was able to have

I've never had this problem, But I also just get an extra 10lbs if I don't think a sack is enough for whoever is eating.

You called yourself irrational in the OP and then you're surprised that most don't share your opinion. If anything you're the one setting a trap here.

We do 3-4 sacks depending on how many we invite, and we always have leftovers at the end. But most people, including myself, are pretty hungry by the time batch 1 is up. I'm sure we will continue to dump on the table, but definitely seeing the value in the ice chest method after considering how warm it would keep them and help with portion control.

The presentation of the dumping on the table is a thing of beauty though..

i called myself irrational for being mad about A, not the fact that A is more popular. I was expecting a more even distribution.

there's nothing irrational about most of my boil experiences in the Lafayette area being B. it's not something we can have a debate over.

1st batch is for rookies. Let them eat. I get the 2nd.

Usually I'm boiling so I eat last anyways.

Where do you live

Besides being 95 degrees, you have the warmth of the pile and the juices/meat located in an enclosed shell

Ive walked back up to the table an hour later and the leftover crawfish were still warm

I find they get cool fast even when people are eating them quickly. I like them practically burning hot though.
