After 7 days it gets tossed out.
I get very frustrated if there is anything left after 7 days of being in there

For me, 2 days at most, then it goes in the trash.
The rest of my house is on the 1 day at most plan.

Work lunch has been the exact same thing, five days a week, since mid-October. Changed it up last week ... to eat my kid's leftovers. That will go through this week. I won't "cook" unless it's going to be more than 2 meals, steak being the exception.

I'll get tired of multiple days straight of roast, red beans, or even gumbo at times.
I almost always have some gumbo in the fridge or the freezer. Its my lil girls favorite, so I always have some for when she asks for it, and I honestly can eat it almost any time, as well lol

Depends on what it is...
Meat- Absolutely.. I can make tacos, sandwiches, add it to ramen .. etc etc
Pastas, just depends.. Spaghetti, lasagna good to go.. any cream based sauce pasta is terrible day after.
Gumbo or soup.. Hell yeah
Like i said.. Just depends

Isn't that basically what meal prepping is? Planning ahead with your leftovers?

I meal prep, so I'm constantly eating leftovers. If we're talking about restaurant leftovers, some foods make better leftovers than others.

What the argument for not eating leftover? Just you simply don't want to eat the same meal more than once?
I can't recall the last time I got a to go box from a restaurant but I love leftovers for home cooked meals. Half the time the stuff is better the second day, especially Italian. It's just two of us, but when we cook we normally cook for two days and meal prep so eating the same meal more than once isn't a big deal. Also limits the amount of actual cooking you have to do

We cook two meals a week. I cook on Sunday and wife cooks on Wednesday. Every other day is leftovers from those meals except Saturday. Saturday is date night and we usually either eat out or go mooch off one of our children and eat at their house and play with the grandkids.

Teenage son in the house.... left-overs have a shelf life of 42.3 seconds.

This is the truth. Put word out in the neighborhood that you have leftover potato salad or whatever, and it'll end up looking like 28 Days Later at your front door when they all get back from batting practice.

Right! My son is currently a Soph in college. He keeps his grades up and has scholarships so I've gladly paid for his meal plan. He has never eaten leftovers and in 2 more years I look forward to hearing about his first real trip to the grocery store.

Love leftovers.
I too will eat the same meals for many days and nights and it doesn’t get old for me.
Good food is good food and some foods just get better and better over the course of the week.

I generally cook in bulk, so leftovers are inevitable. Much of what I cook is put in freezer bags or containers to freeze to use later.
Tomorrow I'm cooking 4 lbs. of red beans. Last Thursday I cooked 3 gallons of chili, the day before that was 2 gallons of chicken/noodle soup. The wife and I will eat what I cook fresh for dinner, she will usually take some with her to work for lunch the next day and I'll eat it a couple more times before freezing it.
That way, I don't have to cook every day and simply thaw a container of food, maybe make some pasta or rice to go with it and have a simple meal.
It really doesn't take all that much more time to cook 3 gallons of food as opposed to 1 gallon of food. The extra time is in the prep work and that is easy for me with the knife skills I possess.

A little of all of the above. Case by case basis.
If I take home half a burger, it's unlikely getting eaten because they kinda don't save well. If I take home leftover spaghetti or enchiladas, they're probably coming to work with me the next day.
We will eat leftover pasta, gumbo, jambalaya, etc. (hell, we make those items specifically to pick on throughout the week), but not very often do we end up eating something like leftover pork loin and green beans.
We've learned over time that for big batch meals like meat sauce, the best move in our house is to save no more than a quart of leftovers in the fridge and to freeze the rest. The chances of anything more than a quart amount getting finished up are low, so the rest goes to the freezer for another time.

I am a firm believer in not wasting food whenever possible.
I will take leftovers home from the restaurant.
I will keep leftovers from home cooked meals.
I am fine with eating the same thing for many meals in a row.
The rest of my household is not of the same mindset.
I am the only one who goes through the fridge every few days and takes all random leftovers and makes a meal (usually just for me) instead of throwing them away.
The rest of my household is fine letting them rot.
My family is the same way annd I agree with all of this except the spacing between sentences. That part is annoying.

Nope, no gimmicks for me. Strictly chef's knife kept razor sharp and keeping fingers out of the way.
That guy made too many commercials that irked the hell out of me with his over the top delivery. Pretty sure that's the same guy that was a shill for the "Sham Wow" that was used to dry the surfaces of a car after washing.

Our struggle isn't so much forgetting, as it is life/schedules getting in the way.. combined with other meals already being planned that must be cooked. We'll sometimes find ourselves with leftovers we would be willing to eat, but there is no open slot available to work them in.
I plan all meals in advance and buy the ingredients ahead of time, so leftovers are unfortunately going to sit if it's a meal time where something has already been planned. I'm not skipping cooking meals I shopped for just to work in some leftover chicken, ya know?
To combat this, I do try to leave a few blank spaces in my weekly menu here and there. We also go out more than average, and many times it is randomly decided, so I account for that in meal planning.
