cleaning the rice cooker always seems like it is more trouble than it is worth.
How is your pot any different? You've got a vessel and a lid to clean in both cases.

For some reason Amazon sent me a Instant Pot rice cooker along with the Instant Pot.

Probably use it more than the Instant Pot.

That's what I do with the pot and top of the rice cooker. I don't see the difference.

I don't see a difference either and don't understand why you would waste time tending to rice when you can set it and forget it. Wipe the lid of the cooker down and throw the bowl in the dishwasher, done.

Is everyone just using Instant Pots or is there a better option for making rice?

I prefer the Hitachi Chime o matic but I wasn't able to find one last time I looked for a rice pot (not sure but they don't sell them anymore locally) so I went with the Aroma digital one mentioned and pictured earlier in thread. It works good and gets used alot. I've had it for about 5 years now.

National rice pressure cooker for us makes perfect rice every time. Uses less water than rice.

It’s just one more step. Boil rice, then steam rice.

I find the steaming part makes it fluffier (occasionally fluffing with a fork) and not as gummy as just boiling. It’s how my family has always done it

When dating my coonass wife we were cooking one night. She asked where the rice cooker was, I had ever heard of such.

I explained to her that you cooked rice in a pot on the stove. I can cook rice on the stove perfect every time I said. I was wrong. Sometimes it was a touch sticky, sometimes I had the heat a little hot and water gone before rice done.....on and on.

I use a rice cooker exclusively now. Perfect rice...every time and so much easier. Aroma makes a great one...ours went out and we had a non stick we got as a Dirty Santa, and it works fine too. Use a rice cooker, your rice will thank you.

Yes, this is for you that swear your rice is best with all kinds of different shite you do on the stove. It is not. Cultures that have tons of rice in the diet and electricity use a rice cooker.

I got a cheap one from the asian grocery on Florida Blvd. Works great. Make sure you get a nonstick model.
