I was going to say just BR, but thought about St George, Zachary, etc.
Has to be in the parish lines.
I guess my vote goes to Gino’s

I guess I go by what I want:
Steak - Ruth's Chris
Sushi/hibachi - Ichiban
Fried seafood - Roux 61
Hamburger - LeBlanc's in Zachary
Italian - Monjuni's
Those are the staples for me.
Zachary is getting a version of the Francis this year and I think that will upgrade us a tad. Not sure I replace it with anything above but it will be solid across the board.

I’ve never been to the OG Francis in St Francisville, but does this fill the void left by Sammy’s?
Sammy’s was a Zachary staple until it went to shite.

Thread hijack...where will Francis be in Zachary and when will it open.
Will it be in old Sammy’s location? They killed it there until the guy left to open the Francis, then it went to shite. The place was always packed with a strong to-go business too.
As to the OP... I’d say ruth’s, la lagniappe, and ninos for consistently good (sometimes great) meals.

I had no idea it was still open. What a nostalgia bomb.

I was born in Zachary at Lane Memorial Hospital in 1976. Lived there until high school then moved to Houston.
Can't say what it's like now, but I spent my summer days as a kid at Fennwood CC playing ping pong with a bunch of other kids my age. I lived on Tristian Street in Baker for a few years and moved to Newell St. in Zachary for about 10 years. We had a BREC park at the end of it where we played whiffle ball on weekends ad nauseam. There used to be a big field (private property at the time) that had a big lake full of nutria rats that we'd shoot with BB guns. It was a huge plot of land that went all the way back to Rolins Road but from looking at satellite images now it looks like to be an entire neighborhood.
We'd rent VHS movies from Bronco Video, buy our groceries at Winn-Dixie, and get toys and other shite we couldn't afford at TG&Y.
Life was simple and fun. Best days of my life.
Over the years I hung around with Jeff and Ricky Davis (whose GF was stabbed to death while they were in a cemetery while "parking"), also Tip Tippy (and his sister Crystal), David Welch, David and Katherine Staid. No clue in hell what any of them are doing today. Would be interested to find out what they’re up to.
