Vesta Wood Fired Pizza in East Rutherford, NJ has the best pizza I've ever eaten. It's the Salsiccia pizza with crumbled pork sausage, fresh mozzarella, marinara, broccoli rabe, red pepper flakes, and pecorino.

Marion's on N. Dixie Drive in D8N. Dunno if they still got the Arch Rivals arcade basketball game tucked away in the corner. I sure hope so.

It was a roma style (super thin, soft crust, light sauce, fresh cheese). It was at a lodge on top of Mt. Titless in Switzerland.
Second was a brisket deep dish in chicago.
Third was probably the former pizza truck in br

Mt. Titless
Saddest mountain ever.
My favorite was just a plain pepperoni from Pizza Village on Moss St. in Lafayette. Not the one that's there now, the OLD one across the street. Grab a pie, then head down the street to the movies.
Of course, this wasn't recent.

By taste? Guido's on the Hill in STL.
But it's hard to beat Mr. Gatti's after a day of tiki tubing.

Is it St. Louis style there? I've been to Charlie Gitto's on The Hill but never Guido's.
I'm a sucker for thin crust, and there is a SW Ohio style chain in Quincy, IL called Cassano's and it's my favorite.
btw, more pictures.

Yes. Guido's is STL style pie. They also let you get it with Provel, Mozz, or both.
Best pie in STL. Though there's something to be said about taking down a grease bomb from IMOs to cure a hangover.

Best non-traditional: "Marie Laveau" from Deano's in Lafayette...now I want to drive to Lafayette for pizza.
Dean'O's is the perfect pizza to me....perfectly crunchy crust and primo toppings.
Marie Laveau and Cajun Executioner are top notch
I also enjoy:
Fleur De Lis Around the World
Johnny's Hawaiian
Midway Pizza - regular old pepperoni
Grimaldi's in Destin- Spicy Chicken Sausage

Tortuga's Pizza in Hoover, Al on Hwy 150 near the Hoover Met (SEC Baseball tourney site). They serve only deep dish style pizza.

Diavola in Geyserville. Thin crust modern style.
Zacharys in Berkeley. Chicago style.
Very different but both very solid.

The best pizza I have had was in Positano, Italy not far from where pizza was invented. We were there for a week and ate at a number of great pizza restaurants, some of which are famous and some of which were little family run places. The best pizza I have had in the U.S. was in N.Y. John's off Times Square is the place we make the B-line to as soon as the plane lands. Our other favorites are Lombardi's in Little Italy and Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge which we walk to from Manhattan. Our favorite here is Dominica. Brooklyn on Vets is our favorite casual take out pizza. The quality of the pizza in the New Orleans area has really improved in recent years.

Not a big fan of pizza. May eat a total of two per year.
Most memorable was in Houston 25? years ago for business. I was in a Randall's New Generation food store.
It was a breakfast pizza.
Loaded with egg, cheese, sauce, sausage, bacon, probably stuff I don't remember. It was awesome with a cup of coffee.

I can't rank the best I've had because I've enjoyed too many. One that stands out was Marielle's on 57 in Manhattan.

Antico in ATL is the best pizza that I've ever had. I ate there twice in only 4 days and could have eaten there again.
