Making some crawfish bread this weekend, but really wanting to serve something else with it. What are some ideas that wouldn't be too heavy but compliment it rather well ? Thinking pasta dishes would be too much combined with the bread, so maybe soup type dishes or lighter sides.

I feel like it would be taste dipped in tomato soup, like a grilled cheese.

They have a crawfish melt at Elsie's that people usually dip in the tomato soup, so it made sense to me.

Pasta. Just go all in on the fat and carbs.

Not being sarcastic, btw.

I fixed crawfish bread for the first time a few weeks ago, and I served it alongside crawfish pasta. Everyone was very happy with the combo.

I've never served it as an entree. I always cut it in slices about an inch wide. Usually on the side or as a pick up food.

This was the recipe I used, which I think I got from someone here. It was amazingly good.

2 Tbsp butter
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped celery
½ cup chopped red bell pepper
1½ Tbsp minced garlic
½ tsp thyme
2 tsp Creole spice blend
5 to 6 Tbsp crawfish tail meat (from about 1 lb crawfish), cleaned and drained
¼ cup chopped green onion
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tsp Creole spicy mustard
4 oz shredded mozzarella
4 oz shredded Cheddar Jack cheese
½ loaf French bread, sliced
| Preparation | Preheat oven to 350°F. In a sauté pan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion, celery and pepper and cook until soft, no crunch. Stir in remaining ingredients except bread until combined. Spoon mixture onto bread slices and bake 10 minutes. Broil for an additional 3 minutes or until browned. Serve.
