I've never heard of it. Is that a mid-Texas dish?

There was just a thread on this with same question.... we got to local gulf seafood market.... boil shrimp, or make a shrimp pesto pasta, fresh grilled or blackened fish. Do that a few nights. No cooking at lunch, leftovers or sammiches... eat out or take out remainder of the nights

When we went to the beach for a week in Nov 2020 - our plan was to cook 2 or 3 nights

We didn’t - closest we got was sandwiches and leftovers

We usually had 2 couples and a bunch of kids, so cooking simple stuff was a lot cheaper and easier than going out. I am the food guy so I did the planning, a big spiral sliced ham was a must, jambalaya will feed a lot of people, not too fancy, just meat, sausage, seasoning, veggies and a lot of rice. I make sure the rental had a gas grill for hamburgers, hot dogs and steak night. One year I smoked ribs before, so all I had to to was thaw and grill, that was a winner.

If kids are going get everyone's favorite cereal and lots of pancake mix for b'fast. Bread and buns of course.

Everyone eats well, I do things like make and freeze hamburgers ahead of time so we spend very little time in the kitchen. Screw the environment, paper plates are a must.
