Cowbell, Maybeck’s (San Fran), LPG.

Honorable mention to my own flattop burger and the smoked burgers at the Magazine Whole Food.

Cherokee's menu was a classic.

The wife (MHNBPF) absolutely loved their fried mushrooms. The pool table covered with a sheet of plywood at lunch to double as a serving table was pretty cool IMO.

I always told people you could see a line of vehicles parked side by side out front and they easily could have been a new Corvette beside a rusty '66 Chevy, beside a 911 Porsche, beside an old plumber's pickup beside a classic XK Jaguar, maybe with three Harley's on the end. I miss that place a lot. It was a really nice beer joint dive.

I can't tell if y'all are for real?

Au cheval is number 1

And I do love port of call.

Third would be the one in Lafayette with the lamb

Not really.
Burgers are nostalgic.
And port of call was the first burger that I tasted growing up that blew me away.
So.. it's a favorite.

I even love old school ground pati burgers..

It has to be the fresh shredded soft cheese that does it for me.

Lots of other burgers i’d rather eat in Knoxville, heck I’d even take the burger deal at Copper Cellar, miss burger days on campus.

I didn't doubt you, I was commenting on the obvious similarities. Are there any Shoney's Big Boys still around? Haven't eaten at one since I was a kid.

Best burgers I’ve had are from Tipsy Cow (Madison), Maillard’s (Chicago), and Highland Tap & Burger (Denver).

There are Big Boys and Eat N Parks up North. I don’t think Shoneys is affiliated with Big Boy anymore? Could be wrong.
