I looked it up - it was on the corner of Toulouse and Decatur - I used to work At O’Flaherty’s and I don’t remember Carmelo’s at all must’ve been bad

This would have been mid to late 90’s early 00’s

I don’t know exactly what year they opened or when they closed

Not impressed with this place. The food was just mediocre.

I worked at O’Flaherty’s 99-01

Ralph & Kacoo’s was farther down Toulouse - there was a gentleman’s club directly across the street from O’Flaherty’s.

Think it was a Katrina casualty, although it may have opened for a short spell afterward.

Second best Italian in New Orleans. When it was on, it was the best, but it could be hit or miss. Always a kick arse atmosphere, though.

Was a true real Italian restaurant. The only other Italian restaurant in the area that comes close is
Ristorante Filippo in Metairie.

Galatoires was actually terrible when I went for my birthday. Like laughably bad.

On a side note what was the name of that Italian kind of buffet on Carrollton. Boucherie bought it and it’s now like an offshoot of them. Right next door.

The guy would pour you a styrofoam cup of wine for like $2. And would be like “I’ve got this dish in the oven. I have these three dishes right here. Etc etc” and would go down the line and would shove food into a foam container. And then like ring it up like “ehhhhh I’ll call it five bucks”

Food was incredible

Nino’s I think it was
