Does Michelli's count as a neighborhood bar or a dive bar?

The thing about dive bars is that in New Orleans they are just neighborhood bars. Based I the names thrown out there I only go to dive bars.
Outside the city esp up here in Jersey most bars are clubs and are nice but not my style. I prefer a real bar, which most people consider a dive bar

That's a good point.

The term is overused.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but how about Robert Street Bar? You have regular drunks 24/7, pingpong. Boom

I reverted back to that after Hyde Park shut down.

Where was Hyde Park? I remember going there once or twice with friends when I was in college.

Also where the 1999 Real World d-bags worked.

I'll take bars that have been mentioned for $500 Alex.

Two incarnations of Cafe Banquette.

OBrah, I used to live close enough to walk to Robert's. I was the second best ping pong player there from 2001-2005.

This is what I recalled. It seems like it's been at least one or two other things in the past 15 or so years, as well.

I've been knowing him since his Hyde Park days. I was also told that he may be on Bourbon. I drink a lot down there, so my head is on a swivel. If I run into him I'll take a pic and post it to this thread. I've had some fun nights with that guy.

If it's the same Byron I'm thinking of he had a heart attack a couple years ago, I don't think he's working in the qtr anymore..went to Tulane, had dark hair and was balding.

I was there during that time. I don't recall it being very strict.

it wasnt very strict at all but it wasnt as lenient as some of the others mentioned. you actually had to have somewhat of a legit fake id (which wasnt really saying much)

To clarify, he didn't die . Last I saw him he was working at Carousel Bar but that may have been before he had the heart problems. I have a few friends who worked down in the qtr with him I'll ask around and see if they've heard from him lately.

Henry's is my go to. They have cheap drinks and cute bartenders.
