First that came to mind was Meddlesome Moth. It's a trendy place in Dallas that a lot of people recommend, but I found it to be very very average food.
Former DFW restaurant.
People go here to sample what's on tap...Not really a food place.

Middendorph's beer and wine selection sucks balls as well.
One should enjoy that with an ice cold Budweiser
To answer the OP, El Gato Negro

Ruffin being a self-important dickhead kills that place for me.

I'd have to say Tom Collichio's Craftsteak in Las Vegas.
I'm not really a steakhouse fan to begin with, but it truly was a horrible dining experience. The service was slow and frankly a little uppity, a steak that was ordered medium rare came out well done and when we asked (very politely) if we could have a new one made, they seemed annoyed and offered no apology.
Total waste of about $400. I would have genuinely been happier with a solid burger and a cold beer.
Second place? Judice Inn.
Yes, I'm prepared for Lafayette baws to downvote and get up in arms over this, but I seriously don't get the hype. It's an ok, mostly too greasy burger. Maybe it's because it was hyped up by people I worked with in Lafayette to be God's gift to man, but I couldn't wrap my mind around why people like it so much.

Middendorf's is good if you get the thick cut instead of the catfish flavored potato chips they call thin

I have never once had this happen at a Popeyes. I'm convinced people are making shite up all over this thread.

quote:No I'm not. It was just like the same shitty quality that Churches Chicken use for their 'chicken' strips. There is a vast difference between these inferiors and real chicken strips like Chickfila and Zaxbys (although Zaxbys sometimes use a different part than the real strip section from the breast). I would post a picture of it but I won't ever go back there to try it again.

The BR location of Doe’s in nowhere near the level of the one in Greenville. The one in Mecca is way better than the BR location as well.

You don't need to. I had Popeyes strips for lunch and have had them many times. Flaky like fish will never be an accurate description of them.

A couple of mine have already been mentiones, In-N-Out, Morton’s..
Now I have never chosen to go there on my own, but people like Cheesecake Factory and i think it’s terrible. Huge portions served to patrons who order steak well done and put ketchup on it. Plus, I’m not a dessert guy.

I lived in Lafayette for a long time and never understood the hype about Judice Inn never mind the fact they dont serve fries or the burgers from Twins Bakery on that sweet bread. Ground Pati has much better burgers even the cheap burgers from the Bulldog are better than Judice Inn.
