Third reply. Nailed it. If you think it's good quality then you need to get out more.

So you would sit here and argue that Ruth's quality of food is bad?

Bon temps. Went last night and the whole meal lacked flavor.

The Shed BBQ in Ocean Springs... mediocre BBQ and generic bland sides.

Girl and the goat and Gibson's steak in Chicago
Wife and I went to both these places the week before LSU played Wisconsin. Girl and the Goat was decent, and Gibsons steakhouse was very average. We tried two different cuts cooked medium rare, came out more medium with not very much flavor.

I went to Gibson's with the wife when we went to Chicago a few years ago... I had no issues at all with the food or service, but we were seated practically on top of the people next to us, a trashy father/daughter where you could tell the mother almost certainly had full custody and this was just his weekend or something. He was trying to talk to her the whole time about things and she just played on her phone.
It definitely took away some from the experience, but the food and service was excellent.

I really wished we could have said the same. I researched every steak restaurant with reviews, because we wanted to try the best one and not just the one with the most history. I do agree we were really close to other tables. It must have been a busy night because the service was a little slow as well.

I hate to say it but I think one of the most overrated restaurants is Drago’s.
Don’t get me wrong the charbroiled oysters could be the single best one bite of food ever created but the rest of the food is mediocre.

That's a common theme about Drago's though, so I'm not sure that it would be considered overrated.

I’ve been to a lot of these supposedly great bbq joints and always leave disappointed

I also lived in Lafayette for a long time but only had Judice Inn about five times. I'm wondering if the hype was due to only having a couple of burger options in the area when it 1st opened. I'm not sure how long it's been around but guessing 50+ years.
Since the late 1940s. I love Judice Inn, but I wouldn’t doubt that there’s a strong nostalgia component because that’s what I grew up eating.

The Bazaar in Los Angeles. I know L.A. is superficial, but this place was all flash and no substance. I wanted to strangle my wife when I thought we were out of there and she placed an order for cotton candy foie gras lollipops.

So many stupid people in this thread.

Why? Ruth's Chris is a pretty meh steakhouse. It's nice for a place like baton rouge, but I've got plenty here I'd go to twice before considering Ruth's Chris.

Are you just ignoring all the posts throughout this thread saying it is straight up bad? That's fricking retarded to put it plain and simple.
Pretty much no one claims it to be the best steakhouse in the world, so it's really not overrated in my book. But to call it bad is laughable.

Yes that's retarded.

I mean it's very well frequented and there's a certain class of people who go there for special occasions and such as if they do think it's among the best. It's very highly rated by the masses without being imo worthy of that. Aka overrated.
I haven't kept up with this thread so I just jumped in all ignorant of the convos.

That's ridiculous It's highly rated and should be. They are consistently good. They are a horrible answer to the OP.

Nick and Sam's
Al biernats
Bob's
Perry's
Ruth's Chris
Which is the odd man out?
I mean, it's an opinion based thread. You can disagree just fine, but it's someone else's opinion. You don't have to share it.
