Friend,

I pray that you will now put the bottle under the ground and move to health and virtue.

All this talk about the best pizza in Louisiana had me hungry for Domino's. So I walked to our not-so close Domino's to get the three topping large for $7.99. Jackie made this delicious thin crust, which had a double portion of roasted red peppers and pepperonis. It was 18.3 ounces of perfection. I called Dominos after finishing to speak to Jackie and send her my highest compliments.

For dessert, I had Walmart Great Value brand smoked oysters. These only cost a $1 and were sensational! Matched with Great Value cantina style tortilla chips, just 82 cents, I most certainly recommend you try them. Simply delicious.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

A fisherman friend of ours gifted us some halibut, fresh off the boat...beautiful piece of fish so I wanted to do it justice.

I did halibut steaks in a lemon-caper butter, with a side of crispy potatoes and roasted zucchini/yellow squash.

This was my first time EVER cooking fish and it went juuuuuuust a hair too long but still turned out delicious! The sauce was amazing. Overall, I'm very proud of my first attempt.

Dessert is vodka waters and reruns of The Office.

Grilled flat iron steaks for the first time.
Paired them with sauteed shrimp and roasted small potatoes.

Friend,

I can assure you the smoked oysters from Walmart are excellent. I first started eating them on occasion of our 2007 trip to New York. We stayed at The Plaza, and for dinner one evening, we were too tired to go anywhere, so we settled for The Palm Court. On the menu that night was a dish called smoked oyster rumaki. I had never heard of it, so I ordered it. If you can remember the first time you had sushi or the first Drago's chargrilled oyster, that is probably the best way to describe this bite. The waiter later gave me the recipe, which I replicated with these smoked oysters. They were and are superb!

Post the recipe. I will follow it and eat it.

If it’s good, I’ll “eat crow.”

How do they make money selling at that price?

For my birthday lunch we went to the to-go counter at Piccadilly's and had a ground burger patty, green beans and turnip greens. The wife had baked fish and the same vegetables. We took our stuff to the Old Trace Park at the reservoir and picnic dined overlooking the water. For dinner, I had a handful of Macadamia nuts and a raspberry cream zero carb cake.

Good day. I am officially as old as dirt now. My birthday present was another pound lost this morning.

Happy birthday, MD! I love Picadilly and I think that sounds like a perfect celebratory lunch. Here's to another trip around the sun
