Ate at Saffron in New Orleans.

Bombay shrimp to start were very good, the remoulade sauce was one of the best I’ve had. I got the pork vindaloo and it was perfect, good spice to it, the basmati rice was excellent. Wife got the tamarind shrimp and it was very good too.

I was disappointed in the cocktails. They fancy themselves a go to cocktail place and I was underwhelmed with the Saffron old fashioned and the “anti-inflammatory”

Got a coffee to finish- definitely recommend. It’s like $5 and you get fresh French press brought to your table for a couple refills.

Post the recipe. I will follow it and eat it.

If it’s good, I’ll “eat crow.”

Found the exact recipe, but still question oysters for $1

Thanks Paul.

Boogie, My health concerns require me to avoid many of the places I might eat. To me, that is not a problem, because I like Piccadilly's just fine and I was eating with my sweetie (MHNBPF), on a picnic bench looking across the reservoir. Life doesn't get a lot better than that.

After we got back on the road, she purchased me a lottery ticket, so in about 30 minutes I am going to be worth $124,000,000.00, so I also have that going for me today.

I’ll try it. I’m not using the $1 Walmart oysters though

Friend,

My recipe uses Concord grape juice and leeks instead of onions. The Great Value brand oysters are better than the Bumblebee, Reese, and Ocean Prince. Ekones from Taylor Seafood are close, and bigger, but there’s something special about GV. I plan on doing a series of reviews on brand items, gourmet items, and Great Value items.

Hello Friend. Don’t torture yourself with Great Value Oysters. If you want good oysters I have some for you.

Friend,

I was afraid Sally got you. Perhaps next time we visit Fairhope or east of Destin we could make a detour to rendezvous. Do you sell any that are smoked?

The Good Lord blessed us from this Hurricane season. I only lost around 40k oysters but Sally and Zeta were much worse for my fellow oyster farmers. I’ve never smoked but due to my Cajun cooking roots, I believe I can accomplish it. Except these oysters are so exquisite in the raw state, I wouldn’t want to ruin them.
