Last night’s shrimp stew was too thin, but it has been appropriately thickened. I did want to slap a bitch on another site who was very condescending about my method of thickening. I need to get out more.

That’s what I did. Cornstarch and water slurry. She explained to me that Cajuns use roux as a thickener. (Oh, really?)

Dandy Don Shrimp Stew

That’s pretty much what I did. I erred by adding more stock when I thought it was too thick.

Burgers and mac and cheese in our condo after a late restaurant lunch on the first day of vacation.

Dandy Don has a really good white beans and ham recipe on his website also.

Learned a long time ago to cook what makes me happy. Somebody’s always smarter and an authority but over the years, I’ve decided that I cook to my tastes better than most out there. :)

Wife took gumbo out of the freezer for simplicity tonight.

I don't have to tell you folks about how good frozen gumbo is on the re-heating

G! The show you recommended is on Apple TV, which I don’t have. Do you use that streaming service a lot?

Just now seeing your post this morning......sorry for the delay...

Yes, we do use the streaming services of Apple TV a fair amount. Apple has content, as does Netflix, or we’ll rent a movie through Amazon Prime. And there are dozens of other streaming apps in Apple TV for all kinds of content that we don’t use as often.

I highly recommend it.
