Good to see you back. What's been going on? I'm out of of the loop on your health issues.

Long story - sorry.

For six months leading up to my retirement in January, the wife and I had been discussing moving back closer to my mom and to her mom so we can help take care of them. Both Fathers are gone and at times the moms get confused and overloaded with life and the problems of aging.

So I retired in January, confused about what we would eventually do and then in February I had a Gall bladder attack and went into the hospital in Meridian for a ten day stay. Went in on a Monday night and had to wait until Friday for the surgery because I take warfarin as an anticoagulant. I have a carbon fiber mitral valve in my heart and they can't just do surgery until they get me off warfarin, onto heparin and then back onto warfarin after the surgery. Getting off and then back onto warfarin is a complicated deal in an emergency and I have had two emergency surgeries in the past six months.

So, our next door neighbor in Meridian came to the hospital to sit with my wife during the February surgery and the wife told her that we were thinking about making the move home - with this being the neighbor's chance to possibly have input into the selection of her new next door neighbor. The results were a God controlled blessing thing. Three days later our house had pretty much sold (good neighbors, good location, great house). The day after I got out of the hospital, we got a contract on the Meridian house and three days later offered a contract to purchase the house we are now living in (Clinton, MS). I am telling people that I went into the hospital and while I was there, the wife sold our house out from under me (not true, but it sounds funny).

Through most of the moving I wasn't feeling all that spiffy because my Gall Bladder had gone gangrenous during the 3 day wait for surgery and I developed a nasty infection but we moved. We are here now with lots of boxes still to unpack. Our new (to us) house is nice but we don't like the kitchen so we are remodeling it, with all new cabinets and new appliances. That has us eating sandwiches for another 4-6 weeks but it will be worth it if they ever get the work done.

Regarding TD-F&D I got locked off the internet because of moving and a foolish decision to go with Cspire fiber optic internet and cable, which is fast-fast, but takes forever to get installed. We finally got it a couple of days back, so here I am.

Darla is my watch dog here. She knows me via facebook and would know if anything went wrong with my synthetic heart valve/pacemaker/warfarin complicated life. Since my heart valve replacement 12 years ago I have been in the hospital 4 times, never for less than 10 days. For example, I had a warfarin induced deep muscle bleed in my right leg back in November that required 3 surgeries and 15 days in CCU. After that AWOL episode, Darla and I became friends on facebook so that I can snoop on her life and she can track any missing person reports on me. Do you guys know she IRL is a famous NASCAR Driver?

Strange thing about my medical is 99% of the time I look and feel just fine and do whatever I want, until something freaky happens and then I become a Cardiologist's problem child and my wife's worry.

Only sad thing about our move is I am changing my Cardiologist to a new guy (Dr. Richard Guynes) at Saint Dominic's in Jackson (could he be Coater?). I will miss my friends in Meridian (Dr. Charles Davenport and staff) who have provided excellent care for a dozen years and two or three scary hospital visits.

Anyhow, I am back and will resume a normal life after our new kitchen is in place.

Nah, that's not Coat.

I had a couple of jokes about Coat wishing he looked that young or something, but none of them would stick. Coat is a young buck. Glad you're well, MDog.

Missed you, MD. I hope you and NMHGGDSZXRC ultimately enjoy the new move and digs. I sure like the pics of your old yard. Glad to have back.
