I had some leftover shrimp creole an hour ago and just sat outside on the deck for 45 minutes doing nothing but observing the coming of Spring.
The first dragon flies of the year. I watched one hovering over my long grass for about 10 minutes. Don't know what he was looking for but he was persistent.
Saw some really tiny bugs that are called 'no see ums'. But I saw em. We also have something called 'midges' which are tiny misquitoes that don't bite.
I really miss the lightening bugs of my youth. Used to watch them flashing outside my open window because we didn't have A.C. in New Iberia back in the 50s. Mom and Dad had a big window fan in their room. But it didn't pull much draw for me and Bro. We sweated every night into the pillows. Which actually produced some cooling effect.
Lucy is starting her off week in the morning and will have a choice of chicken salad (leftover). Corn Bread (fresh). BBQ chicken thighs ..from yesterday. Pasta and ground beef.. from two days ago.
The dogs are hoping she gives up on the pasta so they will get it tomorrow.

Every summer I have a few in my yard. I love to watch them to this day.
Nice post, Zach.

I see lightening bugs from time to time. They're magical and always remind me of Tinkerbell.

Roasted lemon chicken with root veggies. It's simple but it's also one of my favorite meals to make.
