We are having steak (NY Strip) on the grill, Potatoes and a caesar salad if I get out of my recliner in time. A little tired after (guess what) a day working in the yard. Should be able to eat whatever I want. probably burned 1,500 calories.

May go to the grocer to look for brussel sprouts after seeing l'affiche's post. Cant get those b-sprouts out of my head. The compound butter looked good too.

My dad and stepmom are in town. We picked up filets, loaded potatoes, mushrooms for sautéing, and beer/ wine from the local Fresh Market.

It's a gorgeous afternoon for grilling.

In celebration of the coldest May in the history of Shreveport I made a big pot of Ham and Bean Soup.

Soaked a mix of beans last night. Put the stuff in a crock pot with burnt onions, garlic, etc. Let it go for four hours. Then tested for salt and pepper. It will be ready right now...after 5 hours.

Lucy had leftover pasta and corn bread. Good dog spent the day laying out in the grass barking at the sky. Bad dog is limping for the 4th day. Bad dog is no longer raping the sofa cushions so we think that was the cause of the pulled muscle.

I am changing my plan. It is now Hebrew Nationals with some Claussen kraut. I was going to start making the grits and I saw the pack of HN dogs in the fridge. Craving was flung upon me.

I will make some more frozen steak fries to go with them.

Been wanting a steak all day but still feeling full from shrimp pasta last night and leftover for lunch.

So instead, taking the filets originally destined for the grill and doing some tartare

I loved Vincent's last month. The cannelloni was so good that I'm still thinking about it. The noodle was thin like a spring roll wrapper. Loved the whole place. Typical neighborhood Italian restaurant.
