A sort of “Cajun” seasoned shrimp thing I like to do. Threw a whole jalapeño in this time and it’s hot.

That looks like a really good burger.

Left for India on 5/2. Got back last night, 5/19. So much great food, for insanely cheap prices (curries were about $2-$3). Long Island iced teas were $3, and wine was the far most expensive, at about $8, for a 2x 9oz pour.
We experienced so much, but 11 cities, each about a 4 hour drive from Delhi (which has more residents in the city than than state California), was a LOT in 110+ heat.
Everything is a negotiation and they will sell things for almost nothing. Hotels that looked like washed up palaces were less than $30/night. Oh, and seeing a wild mamma tiger and her adolescent teen cubs was pretty cool.
My favs (you don't find the Vindaloos, Chettinadus, "UK" or "westernized" dishes) - a broccoli tandoori that reminded me of my grammies T-Giving Broc/Cheese casserole. It was made with a yogurt base, no cheese, but was amazing, a simple side dish.
On our last morning in Jodhpur, in the state of Rajasthan, we had Kabuli, a rice pilaf, and a curry. A street vendor. The "chicken" had every taste and texture of chicken and I was floored that it wasn't chicken.
Eating from a street vendor who is squatting on the ground, surrounded by flies and garbage is a big risk. India seems to have zero traffic laws, and the restaurants do not seem to have any permits. The street vendors are, well, exactly as you would expect. It was a wild experience.
The food is great, the people are kind, but there are so many people, and they are all driving a rickshaw, car, bicycle or Uber/taxi! Oh, and cows and monkeys actually wander even the city streets of Delhi. It's a long flight and we left from Miami. 2 8+ hour legs.
Overnight, on the layover, at a London pub, was a nice bit of normalcy.

Just curious, why visit in May? Looking at the average monthly temps in New Delhi, May is the hottest month.

Made a healthy sized Gyro loaf yesterday and had a gyro salad with tzatziki dressing last night and an identical gyro salad tonight.
Had red fluffy stuff both nights for dessert. Strawberry Jello with fresh strawberries and cottage cheese mixed in.

Darla. I love Cornish game hens. We used to roast them all the time, bit I haven't had one in years, I bet we have that sometime in the next week though. Looked really good and I can close my eyes and taste it from the last time we cooked them.
