Wendy’s Will Start Selling Their Chili, Canned, in Grocery Stores

Wendy’s famous chili is typically sold hot at its restaurants. Soon, Wendy’s will sell its chili in canned form at grocery stores.
The fast food chain is partnering with Conagra (CAG) to bring Wendy’s “beloved chili into homes across the country” in canned-form for $4.49 when it hits shelves this spring.
Similar to the chili served at Wendy’s, the canned version also delivers the “flavor you know and love from Wendy’s restaurants” and combines beef, peppers, beans and simmered in a tomato-based sauce. A can has 29 grams of protein, but a sodium amount wasn’t released.

I've actually never had this. Is it pretty good? Most the time people I know get Wolf Brand

At the restaurant is it pretty good. Nothing canned is ever as good. Imo

This will be great for our once in a while chili dog night. Wolf and Hormel just don't do it for me.

Not really. But the Taco Salad isn't the worst thing in the world.

It's decent.
When they make it they use their patties that have been under the warmer to long for the chilli. The longer the chilli sits in the warmer the better it is.

I thought they used old overcooked hamburger patties as part of the meat in the chili?

will it be 3/4 water with a spoon full of chili at the bottom like most places serve? few if any make good chili like it used to be, they dont even try any more

They do. They've recently asked each franchise location to start making more old overcooked burgers and mailing the overage to the processing plant to make the canned version.

It's definitely not the worst chili I've had and with saltines and Wendy's hot chili sauce it's enjoyable. Also great on their taco salad.

So how are they going to replicate their chili in the restaurants on a broad scale?
Are they going to cook a load of their burger patties and put them in a steamer for a day, then dice it up for their canned chili?

I’m actually a little surprised that someone hasn’t said that Wendy’s chili isn’t real chili since it has beans in it…
