Stabiler reopens Perkins Road restaurant
Wayne Stabiler, who closed his City Café on Perkins Road in May, has reopened the facility as South Perkins Market and Deli. A seafood market, selling hot boiled crawfish, is now open, and the restaurant will reopen in 10 days, says Stabiler. "The building had drainage issues, so we redid it," Stabiler says. The new restaurant will serve a full breakfast, home-cooked plate lunches—including favorites such as meatloaf and smothered chicken—and boiled seafood at night. Some of the special salads Stabiler serves at his two Little Village restaurants have been added to the menu. South Perkins Market will also offer catering.
The plate lunches and LV salads might make this a additon to that part of town.

The food was not bad there but that place was in need of a face lift...It was just a nasty hole in the wall....Hope it turns the place around.

All I know is this dude catered our food at my fraternity for about 3 years (like 05-07), and honestly, it was consistently some of the most disgusting stuff I've ever had.

He's a partner.
And yes his stuff sucks.
It's like eating dirty feet.
Not a fan and to be fair I've given all his places and catering several shots.

i live close.....and doubt i will go back even tho he has "re-worked" it.....
if he didnt change ingrediants - and go thru a THOROUGH training program for the wait staff and kitchen help to expedite service - i am not interested.
worst service in town. i dont do their buffet, so planned on a 2 hour lunch for a salad.

Yes and NO! I am Jody Plauche'. Son of Gary! But I am not "THE" Jody Plauche'!
I am like everyone else on the board. I am an LSU grad, a Tiger fan, and I think my steaks and crawfish are better than everyone else...oh yeah...and my bloody mary's and Margarita's.
I just want to share my experiences that have formed my opinons.
And I have learned something on this board...I am a steak snob! I think all you need is salt and pepper and a good cut of meat!

You are not alone. There are several people on this board who think the same.

There is a Johnny's Pizza joke there somewhere.
You know thats what that place originally was.
Few times I ate at Waynes it was good, nothing outstanding but decent good

The only reason I ever went there was to buy fresh tuna steaks to make sushi with. Are there better places in BR to buy fresh tuna? off the hook? fresh market?
