Sorry, did forget to post the recipe...

FOR THE FRIED BACON:
1 lb thick sliced bacon, cut in half
1 egg
1/2 cup milk (or cream or half & half)
1/2 cup flour
salt and pepper to taste
oil (for frying)

FOR THE MAPLE HOT SAUCE:
1 cup maple syrup
3-4 tablespoon crystal hot sauce

FOR THE WAFFLES:
1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
¾ teaspoon kosher salt
1 egg , beaten
1 to 1 ¼ cup milk
4 tablespoon butter , melted
1 cup sharp cheese , shredded
¼ cup bacon (about 4 slices), cooked and crumbled
3 tablespoon fresh or pickled jalapeño , minced

Based on voter comments, I’m thinking in the future we should start doing a fourth place or honorable mentions or some such.
