Just saw they posted that May 31 will be the last day for the Hammond location, though they will keep the Mandeville location open.

Though I haven't been in a few years, it was the first place I ate in Hammond when I was touring SLU, so pretty sad to hear.

I knew it had been going downhill for years but still surprised to hear this. Guess it will become Hammond's 14th all you can eat Chinese buffet or Mexican restaurant.

This was the first place that I ever ate Chinese food. This was back in the mid 90's and I've heard it's slipped in the past 10 years or so.

No doubt it will became a "fancy" buffet place now serving the same shite as the rest of the places

My wife is from Hammond and she swore it was the best restaurant in town for most of her childhood. The last time I ate there a couple of years ago it was literally laughably bad. This comes as no surprise

the north side of hammond is weird...obviously lots of traffic due to SELU but ive lived in hammond 12 years and been that way probably twice. tommy's moved off their spot nearby and other places in the area seem to come and go

when trey yen opened when i was a kid it was a road trip destination though

I thought the food was still really good

The service went down for sure.
Last couple of times we went there was no one in the place.

for a town like Hammond the downtown area has really improved and is sort of booming. I'm sure they would rather keep investing in their restaurant downtown than try to improve trey yuen.

Now I want to go have dinner at the Mandeville location. The food there is always on point.

The building with the new Steakhouse is extremely nice (well the outside and pictures of the interior I saw).

Allegedly Your Moms is moving by Tacos and Beer, so that will be two empty places that could accommodate restaurants.

I used to think that until I tried Northshore Empress. I haven't returned to TY in two years.

that spot your moms is currently in is depressing
it's most of the reason I don't eat there

rents on Thomas are pretty steep though
it's tough to make the nut
