Going today to Trader Joe’s for the first time to shop in years for wine and other things. What’s your go to items at Trader Joe’s?

Croissants.

The frozen in a bag kind actually taste like they are homemade when taken out of the oven.

Triple ginger cookies
Orange/muscat vinegar
Frozen tamales (the two-to-a-pack kind, microwave for a quick meal)
Frozen Kati rolls (quick veg lunch)
Garlic naan
Bags of baby kale

Side note: am I the only person who finds the biggest obstacle to TJ’s shopping is the dang employees? They restock shelves during peak times, seem to spend a great deal of time socializing with each other, and can’t seem to grasp that they’re blocking the aisles in an already crowded store. (Or is this just at the Metairie store?)

Check their website. There’s a TON of holiday season products out right now that look good.

If you like nuts, any flavor of the Marcona Almonds are great. Good place to get nice cheese very inexpensively. Frozen foods are interesting if you like to keep a few frozen things on hand. Condiments are always cool.. right now there’s a blue cheese mustard out.

I don’t know when you planned to go but you’re best going before 10am and after 730pm. Basically the first and last hour they’re open. There’s a whole lot of people gawking at everything, and the place is small.

it’s pretty great for prepared foods and their private label luxury items.
I would not go grocery shopping there

we go there for treats and special occasion shopping like a picnic or having friends over

Yeah, the appetizers and snacks are the best aspect of the store. Most times I'm at someone's house and they have really good crackers or chips out, they came from Trader Joe's.

You can get cookie butter at Walmart now.

Biscoff cookie butter, tastes the same, it’s always been by the peanut butter when I have seen it.

Tj’s has an awesome freezer/frozen foods section.

There’s a frozen/stir fry Kung pao chicken that’s just as good as most Chinese restaurants I’ve been to.

I always buy 2-3 bags of the frozen roasted potatoes with peppers and onions. Only takes a few minutes to cook and goes great with some scrambled eggs.

Their Japanese fried rice rates almost exactly like the hibachi places and you just toss the bag in the microwave for about 4 minutes.

I've been getting their buttermilk and sourdough sliced bread regularly.

I feel like a millennial when buying it, but it's loads better than just white Bunny Bread.
