Aint that a mother.

Very little will survive on that stretch. Cafe Borregas looks like it is run on a shoestring budget.

I was just there last month. Food was on point as was the service. In fact, two other people came up while eating just to make sure everything was ok.

Started with the meat and cheese board, per usual, and some drinks. Said we would make entree decisions once we knew what we wanted and dug into the boards.

Waiter was just awkward and came back every 2 minutes, not too see if there were questions, but pushing hard to just order. Then when asked questions about the menu, he didn't have answers.

Then he was agitated when 4 people needed more bread for both boards combined.

Then just jacked the bill up and wasn't too pleased that he was questioned about it. Not our fault, but his, and then went through the full billing dance twice.

Just odd service and nothing like I've had there before. No Toups family members or Larry in there, which would probably have made things run better.

I’ve been twice.

Loved it the first time. Got the meat board and the lamb neck

Second time got the same but I got so fricking sick I dont Think I’ll ever go back.

I don’t really know what it was. Maybe just a stomach bug. But there’s no going back to a place once you’ve experienced this kind of thing.

They are a part of the "Just Cause" movement for abortion rights, along with many other restaurants in the city, where some profits go to Planned Parenthood. For that, I stopped going.

Man, that happened to me with a giant pork chop at a place in DC. I can't eat thick cuts since. That feeling is something you never want again.

Thanks for the virtue signaling

I think you’ve got it backwards fella. It’s the restaurant that is virtue signaling. Pretty stupid move for a business to pick sides on such a controversial topic, but whatever.

I know there were a few that were originally listed on that event promo when it came out and within a day or two had jumped ship.

been going to toup's since they opened, and since i live about a 3 minute walk away, i've been there at least 50x; it used to be one of the most delicious meals in the city.

since toup's south opened and isaac became somewhat of a celebrity chef and isn't always there, it fell off big time, service and food.

I actually didn't know the other restaurant closed, so hopefully they get their shite together, as of late, i don't go there that much anymore

Go to Cowbell's website if you want to see virtue signalling at it's finest.

Yeah you gotta catch Toups in the kitchen, I found. Went a few weeks ago and the food was good. Service was lacking

I’m close by too, Zasu has been my spot recently

Get that board with everything on it. They'll tell you, but definitely spread one of the pates on the cracklin's. So freaking good!

I've only had the fried chicken sandwich as a lunch entree which was fantastic.

Sad because it shouldn't be that way. Fingers crossed they realize soon and fix this.
