I am not going to north BR until things calm down, it might be a while, but that's the way it is for now. I used to make a trip there every couple of months for fish and frozen items. Anyone know any place in SE BR or nearby that has fresh saltwater fish and boiled crabs?

Wtf Tony’s is fine. Not really sure what exactly you think is going on. But okay?
Anyway, they don’t have boiled crabs yet nor does LA Boilers. Most places told me they won’t have them until at least a couple more weeks.
Capital City Crawfish posted about having some the other day, so maybe call them. But they’re on Government if that’s an area you’re avoiding too...

I went to Tonys yesterday. I’m fine.

You are the proverbial blind pig who found an acorn, you are right, but not in the way you intended. The boomer generation did create this mess with it's policies and actions, specifically LBJ's 'War on Poverty'. He passed legislation which resulted in welfare recipients getting more money by living apart than living together. This was the death knell for the black family, immediately one parent households became the norm, illigitamacy rates climbed, so did crime. This was when Vietnam was cranking up so illegal drugs flourished. The great liberal, Patrick Moynihan, warned LBJ, he predicted the results and he was spot on. But LBJ didn't give a sh*t about the black family, as he is famously quoted "this bill will have the n****** voting Democrat for the next 200 years."
He got what he wanted at a great expense for generations to come.
Yes, I am old, I need a cane for bad knees, so I am vulnerable. I'd be a fool to risk my life for a bag of seafood. I didn't want to put politics on a food board, but you brought it up.

Um, you brought it up in the OP and you sound like a huge pussy.

Haha, what? You opened that door with your first sentence. You could have left out the whole thing about "until things calm down."

It’s a seafood market half a mile off the interstate with a police officer on duty. Turn off the TV. Nobody will care about you being there.

I had no idea that the TD SJW's hung out here. I like Bill Pizalotta, buy I'm not the only one who is staying out of NBR.

Honestly...what do you think is going to happen if you go there today?
What percentage chance do you give that something will happen to you if you go?

Just go to Tony's like a normal functioning individual. If this is too scary for you then you have much bigger problems than not knowing where to get seafood.

Far from it. You’re the one holed up in your cave afraid of black people
Seriously. Stop consuming fear mongering media and live your life. I promise you nobody cares about you at Tony’s and you’ll be fine.

Not holed up, it's a long drive, I've spent thousands at Toney's over the years. A friend just caught a chunk of rock in his back driver's side window on Florida Blvd., the crazies are out there.
I've been looking for an alternative for years, I had heard Bill's brothers were going to open a place near Airline and Jefferson, but have not seen any progress.
You people are idiots, try respecting someone's opinion besides BLM.

Andouille, you’ve always been a nice guy and I like you. But white people go in and out of Tony’s all day every day with zero issue. I don’t think you’ll be in harm’s way.
Anyway, Capital City Crawfish is the only place in town I’ve seen reference boiled crabs. If you’re truly concerned, know that 90% of their patrons are black. I’m always the only white person besides the owner.
I called LA Boilers, Tony’s, and Crawfish on the Geaux last week and all were a no. The first two said they won’t see them until the end of the month at the earliest.
If you’re just looking for fish, there was a good thread on it yesterday or the day before.

Tony's is one of the safest places on earth.
Posted on 6/19/20 at 9:33 am to andouille
Tony’s is probably one of the safest places in BR
No one is going to mess with you at Tony’s or Krispy Kreme
No one is going to mess with you anyway, unless you are in a neighborhood you really shouldn’t be in
The majority of people in NBR are good people
