It is surrounded by bad neighborhoods. Are you taking a helicopter there?

100% agree. but what about the ones not in that majority?

Don't be naive, you know damn well that the vast majority of violent criminals in this city live in the general vicinity of Tony's, and i say that knowing that it is extremely unlikely anything would happen to him if he went there today.

Yeah I find it hard to believe someone standing on the side of Florida Blvd hurled a rock at an old white man for merely existing on a heavily traveled road.

You don’t drive through the heavily residential streets to get there. Get off interstate at Hollywood or Evangeline. Turn on Plank. It’s not like you’re cruising through the depths of the hood here.

It’s 2 blocks off the interstate, not like you have to make 18 turns through south Chicago to get there

Im more than aware of where it's at and how close it is to the interstate. I've been there many times, and i have never felt uncomfortable. But don't act like there's no risk whatsoever in being around there, even for two blocks. You may pass 30 houses to get there, and 29 of them are good people, but you get a flat tire by that one, and you regretted your decision to go there real quick.
and again i say all this knowing full well that it is extremely unlikely anything happens to you while going to Tony's today, but i can understand why some people might be uncomfortable doing so, and i think the OP is goofy for not going for this reason when he's been there so many times before.

It happened right in front of Vernon’s Hardware. I frequent that Asian market next door. Not usually worried about NBR, my wife taught in NBR for 25 years, We have been to many social events at homes in Scotlandville, Gus Young Ave.etc, but if you don’t think it is more of a risk today, you are naive.

It was probably a homeless white person that threw the rock. They do that sometimes.

What is your definition of vicinity? I for one am going to go to Krispy Kreme later on this morning, then to Tony's for some catfish to fry up this evening, and while I am in the danger zone get a plate from Cane's in Delmont Village. I grew up in north Baton Rouge and have no fear about going there.

They had soft shell crabs Friday. Said they just starting getting them this week. Said hard shells would start coming in around the 4th.
