Tom is annoying, though I use his site, regularly, when I'm deciding on restaurants. I don't depend on his opinions. I just read about the restaurants and dishes. I'm hoping the dining guide here builds up enough to be as useful as his site is.

He's made a lot of enemies over the years and he can be terribly juvenile. His food board used to be a lot of fun with a lot of good posters and a few cranks, as he calls them. Fell apart after Katrina. He's trying to revive it, but it's been overtaken by a single poster who is more annoying than Tom is.

Funny stuff way back when he was arguing with Mr. Lake back and forth. Those two hate each other and invaded each other's food boards. Hilarious material.

aboy gets on my every nerve.

I do listen to Tom on and off. It is better than Bobby and Deke, Karre Johnson, or the northshore right wing wacko on 990.

I like it when Feng puts aboy in his place. That's the only thing interesting that I ever read there, but I rarely visit anymore.

A few years ago, Pre-K, there was a restaurant on Jackson Ave. that he slammed regularly, then they became a sponsor and voila, it was very good.

TF lost me for his Post-K rants about how awful Baton Rouge is, this was after 40% of the people in BR had Katrina refugees in their homes and traffic was one big knot. That POS stayed in DC for several months, I wish they had kept his arrogant arse.

I hope he gets irritable bowel syndrome.

I know him as well - had some business dealings with him ... And agree that he is a pretty good guy... but he just gets on my nerves in the radio ...

I knew Kaare's dad, and met Kaare a few times. His dad was a true class act. Can't say the same about the obese one with the sonorous voice and the multicolored phantom phones.
Glassman - I get the feeling that we may know each other.

Wasn't Tom having an eat club dinner at Mr. John's tonight?

What exactly does the eat club consist of?

A restaurant can choose to host an eat club by paying the radio station is how I understand it works. The restaurants seem like they try hard to make it a great meal. Multiple courses paired with wines, etc.

You just sign up and pay money to attend.
