If you're voting on the best in a category, shouldn't you have been to all of the possibilities in that category to know what's best? Otherwise, it's just what an individual likes.
I haven't been to every Italian restaurant in BR, mainly because I like Gino's so much that I don't go to any others, for example.

If you dont feel like you have enough information to make a decision on a category then dont vote for it. But if you have been to a handful and feel like you can make a decision go for it. People have a pretty good idea of what the best restaurants are. Nobody's going to say macaroni grill is the best italian.

I interpreted "Southern Style" as "Soul Food" ... even if it was intended to be a broader interpretation, such as places like Frank's,Christina's, or Stockyard Cafe,... Soul Food would still fall in that same category.

Another aspect is inconsistency. I'm not going to bash here, but two restaurant categories that were no brainers for me a few weeks back would have been best fries and best sushi, however recent visits have proven extremely inconsistent and almost a borderline fail. These two restaurants CAN have the "best" food, but don't always, so they cannot possibly the "best".

We're not saying they are the absolute best. This doesnt mean anything so dont take it too seriously. Simply put who you think has the best of each category. Nobody is going to tell you you are wrong.

I think it's more of a favorites list, which is fine. Unless you're a restaurant critic by trade, not many people will have eaten at every restaurant in every category.
