Three B's in Lakeview

This is a burger place. It has replaced another burger place, one that was not very good. We decided to try it out last night, so I called in an order and had the wife pick it up.
Keep in mind that these are hamburgers.
My first warning that this may not go as expected was that their online menu had no prices. I figured OK, this will probably be more than what a burger should cost. Since nothing much is open around us on Sundays, I figured let's bite the bullet and roll with it.
We ordered 2 Burgers, 1 chicken Caesar salad, 1 shrimp wrap and a kids burger. Family of 5, so 5 items. Order guy told me nothing comes with the burgers; it's just burgers. "How much for fries?" I ask. "$3." "OK, give me 2."
Wife shows up at the house asking what the hell I ordered. "Why?" "It was $75!"
Wow. Burgers. There was no line item receipt, so I was unable to look through and see how much each individual item cost. Looking online I am unable to find a menu with prices. Regardless, how much have we failed as a society when we start charging $13-$15 for a burger? We get so caught up in the trends that we overprice these things to take advantage of it. If these burgers came with some type, ANY type of side, I could at least accept it a bit more. Nope. Just a burger.
The food wasn't bad though. The burgers were, burgers. I had the one with apricot chutney, brie and aioli (most likely the most expensive one) and it was pretty good. Nothing I would rave about, but it was a nice and different set of toppings for a burger. The other burger was just a standard cheddar and mayo.
The shrimp wrap was not very good though. The shrimp were well fried, but the cheese sauce was too much and overpowered everything.
All in all I would return if their prices were more in line with what a hamburger should cost. Instead they are trying to turn a standard item into an upscale showpiece, and it's not worth the price of admission. I'm sure their next venture will be $15 tacos, because, you know, trends...
ETA: I forgot to mention that the kids burger is quite big. It had to be a 4oz patty. Again I do not know the cost, but this seems like a pretty good deal here.

I have never heard of this place I looked them up. Like you said no prices, red flag, but second has "wine bar" in the name, and third it is Lakeview. So you should have expected pricing to reflect the neighborhood. I don't blame you for being put off.

I actually went and ate there once, and it was kind of amusing. The bar is REALLY nice, they did a good job with it. However all the drinks are crazy overpriced. The wine on tap starts at I think 8 bucks, which is dumb. The point of wine on tap is to have cheaper price points. Most were above 10.

I did, but I was a bit taken back by how much it turned out to be. I didn't expect THAT high.
Lakeview Burgers and Seafood directly across the street is far superior food at much more reasonable prices. They are closed on Sundays which is why we gave this a spin.
The bill was $70 ($75 was after tip)
$6 for the fries, and I am guessing $6 for kids burger. I figure about $7 in taxes. That puts us at about $13 per burger. That's quite high considering it comes with nothing.
For comparison you pay $9 across the street. But yes, LBAS isn't a wine bar
It's really all about the trends. I do think people are seeing through this, because they are sitting at 3.5 stars on yelp. I think it's a failed business venture to turn burgers into an upscale dining experience.

Holy shite!
If they would charge more reasonable and appropriate prices to what they are serving then I would definitely go back. This smells of pretentiousness more than anything, because that's the only way you come up with charging this much for burgers and tap wine

Backyard gets my burger business in Lakeview.
I have been hesitant to try Three B. I saw a picture of their BBQ wings and they looked steamed to hell and back.

I have always said I don't mind a place making a profit but a killing is a whole different ball game. It's freakin' burger!

They also went with this crazy expensive build out on some things. There's chandeliers in the place and the bar build out is pretty extravagant, but the tables are super cheap and little things like that.

Thanks for the details. I looked at their prices and was not motivated to stop by there.
If there were more opinions that rate their burgers high and worth their price point I might revisit it.

This place does not get enough credit. Good burger reasonably priced and my go to locally. I tried 3-B’s was really good but overpriced for what I got. For the price fries should come with the burger or at least a side.

They spent a million+ on renovations to that building, I imagine that's a factor on pricing. Burgers are good but they missed the mark on the concept. They need to decide what they want to be

I've been for dine in a few times. It's a little high but the burgers are good and the wife likes the ambiance. Decent beer selection on tap.

Menu is all over the place. Only definition of concept is to aim to appeal to men, women, and kids equally, hence burgers and wine. Best thing on the menu imo is the charcuterie board which has 3 awesome boudin balls, a good pate, and smoked duck. Overpriced though and you have to pay extra to get more than the 4 small toast points on a $22 board. Chicks love the bar though but I bet Wrong Iron eats into that quickly. Sidney wins apparently no matter what.

He had little to do with the concept and implementation.
Was his land though.

This place is killing it. My friends have been going a lot and I finally made it there over the weekend. They did a really good job with that place.

Indeed! We moved into the area 2 years ago, and this has become one of our go to places for take out (Mings is the other). Everything the serve is hand made, even the fried mozzarella. Most other places serve that frozen garbage.
It needs more exposure and recognition. Very good food!

Dr. Tan burger at Fharmacy is out of this world. A 10 minute drive from Lakeview by the new hospitals.

And I understand their price point as the renovations and rent on that place have to massive, but it doesn’t make me feel better about going there.

I just looked
The burger and fries at 3 Bs is $14
$10 for the burger and 4 for the fries
Cowbell is $13.85 for a burger and fries
Fharmacy is $12.50
Company Burger is $11.25
Brown Butter is $13.00
LPG is $16
So it seems pretty much in line to me for the "high end burger craze"
