$10 for the burger and 4 for the fries

This doesn't seem accurate.

Granted, it was a months ago when I was there, but I seem to remember most of the burgers being between 12-15. Maybe there is a basic one that is 10 but I don't recall that.

Not being a dick, but it always seems like people are way off when talking about prices at restaurants on this board

I was just coming to post that I looked it up.

I know you are trying to be contrarian as always, so I'm a bit surprised.

I just remember everyone in my party being stunned at the price of our check.

No, I am honestly just providing the price of the restaurant

It seems in line with its competitors, so I think it makes sense to post the actual prices no?

I really don't think that tells the whole story. It wasn't as good as any of those places, and I felt the drink prices were pretty high for a "burger place".

Why don't you go become a regular there and then report back.

Why are you mad that I posted the actual prices of a restaurant and its competitors in a thread for a price of a restaurant?

I thought it was solid and in line with the other places I listed. It didnt blow me away, but I didnt feel like it was more expensive either

I'm not mad at all.

As I said as soon as I said that I looked it up on Yelp myself. Personally, I think they changed the prices. I distinctly remember a 15 and 14 dollar burger when I went.

That's an old menu. None of that is on the current one. I found it as well, and it appears they have increased their prices since then.

I posted the actual price I paid and broke down the costs as best and accurately as I could. As I stated with a $3 per fry (bought 2), $6 kids meal, $7 in taxes and $5 tip, that leaves me with $51 still remaining on what I paid.

Divide that by 4 and you have an average of $12.75 for JUST the burger.

Not sure how I am being "way off" here

This appears to be the case. That $14 burger and fries he referenced is now a $16 one. Both are steep for burgers, but one has surpassed even the most reasonable.

How much do you tip on take out? Feel free to start a separate thread on this. I'm sure you will get plenty of replies all over the place, and I am guessing most will be in the $1-3 for cheap joints and $5 for something in this range. I ain't getting served bra

Yeah all of the food menus on Yelp are from July.

Those are not the current prices. I distinctly remember them being higher, for sure.

Well, the burger has increased to $11, however the fries dropped to $3.50 so the burger and fry is $14.50

They most likely started out with more competitive prices, got cocky with the initial high turnout of customers (as is often the case with new places) and raised their prices as a result. I see others pointing out the place itself cost plenty to renovate, but none of that should matter when it comes to charging for the food. Customers don't care what your up front expenses are. They care about what's a fair price for the services offered. Spending too much to start a business is a poor business decision, and that's on the owners.

Its $11 for just the burger, $3.50 for the fries

So here it the updated numbers

3 Bs $14.50

Cowbell is $13.85 for a burger and fries

Fharmacy is $12.50

Company Burger is $11.25

Brown Butter is $13.00

LPG is $16

I dont disagree its expensive for a burger and fries, but that part of it for this new burger fad.

On top of that the place just doesn't make any sense.

It just doesn't know what it wants to be.

Where are you finding these prices? (genuine question as I have not found them online) I may be misremembering, but I swear he told me on the phone it's $3 for fries. Even if $3.50 that still leaves my total for 2 burgers, shrimp wrap and caesar salad at $50, which means an average of $12.50 per item.

It's certainly possible they are charging more for the wrap and salad, so I am not saying your costs are wrong. However you break it down though it is expensive for what it is.

I agree with you on the burger fad being the culprit. That is exactly what I was pointing to in my OP. Burgers are very trendy right now for some reason, so people are making more of them that what they ought to be and driving up the price point in the process. Tacos also are trendy, so I can see their prices shooting up as well.

I think $14 for a burger and fries is pretty much in line with the neighborhood.

Mondo - $14
Fransceca's - $14.50
District - $11.75
Station 6 - $17
Backyard - $11.50
