Was driving down Government and didn’t realize this restaurant was in the old Bistro Byronz. Menu looks decent with some solid lunch options and good dinner options for people not looking to spend a ton.
Noticed it was another City Pork Group restaurant. They are slowly taking over the BR dining scene.
Anyone been? How’s the food? May need to try it for a lunch or brunch in the future.

First time I went was okay, second time was great. There’s a speakeasy called Brakes Bar in the back that’s awesome. Only seats a few people.
The croffle thing is lost on me, but their apps, salads, and plates are all very good. Service is iffy but that’s not because of them. Service everywhere is very fresh right now because the long timers found other work during Covid.

We’ve been 2 times amd have enjoyed the vibe and food. It’s great to take kids because of all the milkshake options. Cocktails are great too.

I've gone twice and enjoyed my meal both times. Although someone I know received their hot chicken undercooked. Luckily I haven't had that issue

I like it mostly. Good vibe, drinks and a few solids on the menu like the boursin cheese app. But like previously stated, the croffle is a miss. Croissant dough compacted as a waffle"bread" makes the sandwich chewy. It's unfortunate it's a menu staple. 3.9 out of 5 stars.

Like others have shared, we enjoyed it. We went for lunch two weeks ago and enjoyed it. We both ordered sandwiches and thought they were really good. My wife ordered a cocktail and said it was excellent. We also enjoyed the vibe and thought they did a nice job with the renovations and the atmosphere.

We actually ate there yesterday for brunch. The food was solid; service was iffy. The Mrs. ordered the breakfast plate and I had the hash brown bowl. We tried the Nola Nectar boozie shake and it was great, especially with the heat yesterday. We’ll definitely make a return visit.

It's not going to change your life, but it's very solid.

I’d imagine they’d get this off the menu soon. Very few people I know have liked it

I actually like it as a knife and fork thing.

Probably why I don’t like it

Good, but pricey
Couldn’t disagree more. I thought it was very fairly priced. Food has been good every time I’ve been

We went there shortly after it opened… I ended up getting served raw chicken. They were very apologetic and comped our drinks and a dessert and brought me another meal. I’d go back again, just maybe not order the hot chicken

I’ve been a couple of times as well.
Both times have been very good, and I’ve had excellent servers both times.

I got the Philly Cheesesteak and it was very delicious. It had poblano peppers on it which gave it a very nice twist. However, it was served on a hamburger bun. Did not care for that too much and wished they just stuck with a hoagie or other long bread. The fries were cold and soggy. The person I was with got a orange Julius or something like that and I watched them make it. Orange fanta and their ice cream, that was it. It was 8$... Overall it was good and would go back.

Went last night and thought it was pretty good. I really like the casual vibe of the place and I find their menu to be interesting enough to keep me going back. There were some misses but I think this was due to their staff just being young. They are also apparently getting a new menu, so some items on the "old" menu weren't accurate.
My wife had a 21 Sages cocktail, which was Scotch, Pineapple/Sage, Fresh Lemon, and Pear Brandy. It was excellent. I had a Dark & Stormy and it tasted like straight rum. Not the best drink but we were told the bartender was new.
We shared these eggplant bites topped with crawfish in a butter sauce (new menu item) and holy hell these were incredible. I'd order them as a meal next time.
She had the country fried brisket which was a winner. I had a side house salad (very good salad but croutons were stale and they forgot to add the grilled zucchini - the waitress brought me some though) and the Louisiana hot brown.
I was a little disappointed in mine because I thought it would be a play on a Kentucky hot brown, but it was just a hot turkey and ham sandwich with jalapeno jam. Very sweet but okay. Just not what I expected.
For dessert we split a piece of the cake of the day (lemon pound cake) and a piece of the pie of the day (cherry).
The cake was probably some of the worst I've had. Dry, crumbly, no real lemon flavor, and had a strange sweet after taste that was unpleasant.
The pie, however, was some of the best I've had. Filling was perfect and so was the crust.
We had another person with us and she ordered a smash burger, which she enjoyed. Nothing really special about it.
All in all, a solid place to eat dinner without breaking the bank, and a place we would definitely return to try other items on their menu.

This is what I got on my first visit that was meh. It definitely seems like they're hit or miss, since my 2nd visit was so much better.
Agreed on the young staff. It's infecting everyone - even nicer places that used to be mostly seasoned staff. Sucks, but hopefully it's just temporary as they grow into it.

The restaurant was also very noisy. Like excessively noisy, and noise doesn't really bother me. I guess the acoustics in there are too good because at one point we were shouting to communicate with one another across the table - which only added to the noise

Looks like they changed their menu up a bit. No more croffles, although you can make any sandwich a croffle. Added a couple different sandwiches and apps
