So everyone in BR is blind?

Isn't the one in Nola really popular there?

I've been 3-4 times in BR. Fun atmosphere and good drinks, there's not really any other places in BR like it (beach/Caribbean).

All the food I've had has been pretty good, except the tacos are just ok at best. Nachos are legit.

Have never had to wait but we usually go mid-afternoon. I would never wait more than 15mins though, unless the ole lady was dead set on it.

I agree with this

There is almost an exact replica 100 yards down the road. Imagine the demand was there.

Funny, I came on here with a review when I went, saying how disappointed I was in the overpriced, unimpressive meal. And the majority of the people said "You didn't order the right thing - you HAVE to get the tacos!" I just can't give it another shot, it was that mediocre.

Honestly I don't remember which tacos I had so I'm not sure if I had the "recommended" ones. Most of the food I've had there has been apps and they were pretty good. But I don't go to a place like Rum House expecting the best meal I've ever had in my life. I will go back eventually and will probably have some tacos again to try to find some I really like

I think the drinks are great, but Torchy's tacos are head and shoulders better.

I do know that it is OB's, Wise's and R2R's favorite place to get together on Tuesdays.

This sums up Rum House food in one sentence.

Whoever said it was cold is right too. It is almost as if they have a bunch of ingredients sitting in buckets in the back and nothing is kept warm or even that good to begin with.

I don't hate the food, but it's not anywhere near as good as you'd think from the menu.. which is disappointing. Seeing a good idea not executed well sucks.

As Jones said, it's a place to be seen. As a female, if you aren't in you 6-inch wedges and white jeans and sparkly shirt with full makeup and hair, you feel out of place. BR women are weird as shite. Rum House and WalkOns. That's where I always see this overdressed phenomenon.

The tacos are hit-and-miss. Some of them are pretty good, others are

3/10 because the parking fricking blows.

Great location but I hate it when businesses open and don't consider parking accommodations. I had to park across the street and cross perkins last time I went on a Tuesday afternoon.

They've been trying to do something about that but have run into some serious issues.

My tacos were a bit of a mixed bag. I will agree that some sound much tastier than they end up being. I'll go ahead and order mine from favorite to least favorite.

1. Seared Scallop: Scotch bonnet onion marmalade and fried leeks

This one was very good. Had three nice sized scallops which were nicely seared. Turned into three very pleasant bites.

2. Calypso Beef: Island marinated flank steak, guacamole and lime cream

Beef tasted great and was tender. Had a huge glob of guac on it (which I love) and the lime cream was solid.

3. Lamb Vindaloo: Red curried lamb, mint yogurt chutney, sliced plantains

I thought this one would be better but it wasn't very spicy. Still had a nice flavor and the amount of shredded lamb they serve on the taco is nice. Good flavors all around, just expected more heat. Yogurt chutney was nice.

4. Duck Duck Goose: Snow pea & carrot slaw, Clement creole shrub rhum sauce and crispy duck crackling

Menu makes it sound fantastic, but it was very bland. Bit down on a few small bones so that was a downer. Regardless, the flavors weren't there.

Also had probably the best mojito of my life with coconut added to it. Wife had a Painkiller and she was feeling it after the one drink.
