Looking at a Rec Tec, any recommendations?

I have the Rec Tec 700 and love it. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a pellet grill.

I have the RT 700. Love it for long cooks.
It’s a better grill than I expected with the grill grates to finish off the sear (flat side of the grate)
Even though ceramics are better pure grills imo, I find myself leaving the BGE alone for the convenience even for pure grilling.

I have a 590 and a bullseyes and I love them. I have used stick burners, gas, charcoal, hardwood charcoal kamados and the Reqtecs are my fav. Produces very good product without having to babysit the grill
Peeps will come in here and say get this instead, lol. Don’t.

I thought this too, I have a Yoder. Then I bought a gravity feed Old Country and added a Fireboard. No babysitting and the flavor is night/day vs the pellet grill. I recommend them to everyone now looking into pellet grills. However, it will obviously only smoke. The pellet grill offers more versatility for grilling etc. if you need that capability. But for only smoking, nothing beats real wood.

Recteq has something called extreme smoke mode … and use post oak pellets. Plenty of smoke.
We don’t like heavy smoke flavor so it’s not an issue over here.
Thin blue smoke is where it’s at.

I have a Pitts and Spitts. It’s expensive but I wanted something made in the US.

I have Recteq Bullseye and love it. Currently 4:45hrs into a pork butt. Everything I have cooked so far has come out beautifully. Highly recommend. My only complaint is the inability to clean out the pellet hopper if you want to change out the type of pellets used.

What is up with this entire site loving RecTeq? I have plenty of grilling buddies who love to cook and none of them have ever even heard of them.
Traeger really has set the bar with pellet grills. Do your own research on what fits your budget and what you want out of them. Google "best pellet grills" and you will get a plethora of reviews and articles with very few talking about RecTeq.
I have had 3 Traegers (Silverton, Pro, and Ironwood) and each have flawlessly performed for me.

There is your answer. I have rec rec 700 and love it. As I've said on here before just call the customer service lines of Traeger and Rec Tec to ask about their products. You will have your answer.

Sounds like the problem is you and your buddies. Y’all should get out more. People here love Rec Teq cause we own them and know how good they are. Nothing wrong with Traeger if it works for you. Dodge has their fan boys too.

What is wrong with having 3 of them?

Nothing and there is nothing wrong with what you are using , or whatever anyone else uses.

The Camp Chef Woodwind is 1a/1b with the Rectec. I have both. Quality is just as good, Service is just as good, and the Woodwind has some nice features and creature comforts the Rectec doesn't.
Rectec is absolutely great, but if I could only keep one, it would be the Woodwind.
