No New York or New Orleans on the list makes the list automatically defunct.
Suntiger’s list:
1) New York
2) New Orleans
3) Miami
4) Las Vegas
5) Boise

Don’t sleep on Boise’s food scene.
They have good food. Sat down and had a lamb sandwich. Was told to use the sauce and it ended up being Tiger Sauce. Of all places! And they have a huge Basque population so they use andouille in everything. Lots of fresh meat and fish. I was shocked how good their food scene is.

I live in Boise man. I've eaten at most of the better restaurants here.
I mean for it's size, the food scene here isn't half bad....but top five? Not even close man.

New Orleans is also not top 5, probably top 10
Nor is Charleston
Just by sheer volume those places can't keep up with the bigger cities
Is the food great in those cities? Yes, quality is there. But pure options go to NYC, SF, LA, Chicago, SD, etc
Boise lol

I think of it like weight classes in boxing. Heavyweights: NYC/LA/Chicago for sheer breadth of options.
New Orleans is Floyd Mayweather. Pound for pound, in my book the best American food city, next to certain sectors in NYC.
Also: Boston wildly slept-on.
Italian food hits a different level on the east coast.

I'll put Houston against any city in the world
It's a crossroads for Tex-Mex, BBQ, Seafood, and Cajun/Creole with an excellent asian scene, if I could change only one thing it would be proximity to California quality growing conditions/produce

For as shitty as Jackson is, it actually has a really good food scene. Probably best thing about the city.

I mean... I guess if you're just talking about ability to source ingredients and having a large multicultural population base than these might... maybe.. make sense.
But not a single one of those are places that are "interesting" to me as far as food. Give me Charleston, New Orleans, Santa Fe, and Tucson over any of those as far as interesting culinary destinations.
And like someone else said... Denver?? Really?? I love Colorado, but its food culture consists of steakhouses, big arse burritos, and mediocre pizza.

I didn’t read the article to find out how they determined these rankings but Jackson has absolutely fantastic restaurants. One of the few things it has going for it

Yea, it's bullshite click bait, but Augusta Ga being on the shitty list is legit. It's bad bad.
