Anyone been there? Saw an article about it and was wondering if it was good. Looks like it might be good soul food

I pass it every morning and would love to try it out. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Several posters on this board have eaten there...I hope they respond.

Went there a few years back.....

They are very racist towards light skinned black people....

Long story....I'll type when I get home

I've gone once. Not enough to bring me back. The food is blah, but the service put me off. As I am standing in the line, waiting on my food, the server asked if I was going to tip her.

Nope.

Stockyard Cafe gets my business.

Do we have an ETA on that? I'd like to hear the story, but if it's too late, I'll check back in the morning.

So do they not like colored people? I've been wanting to try it. As a colored man would they disrespect me?

I have eaten there once a few years ago. Service was great. The food was just ok, not good enough to make me want to go back.

This is either the greatest, or the worst, name on TD ever.

Food is ok, not great. Go just a few blocks down (towards EKL)at Bayou Cafe for great soul food.

I had my bf take me there for my bday last year or so. havent been back since mostly due to location and the fact that we spend way more time in nola than BR these days. it wasnt bad. it wasnt out of this world either. i had oxtails, which were underseasoned. my date had turkey necks which were way more flavorful and went better with the corn bread dressing.

its set up like a soul food picadilly. thats the best way i can describe it.

i think its worth trying if you like a soul food dive, but i didnt put it on my rotation of places to go when i have a hankering.

i was more impressed with the food out at teddy's juke joint in zachary when i went there for soul food type menu.

ETA: I miss the Den. that place was good, consistent, and way more convenient to me.

I went about a month ago. The food was good but not great. They do some kind of dilly bar thing but it was shut down when we got there. The service was great when we went.
