My only wish is that they'd have a flat rate for the salad bar and then prices for whatever protein you choose.

For some weird reason, I don't like meat in my salads. But a meatless salad can be $12+ there if you get heavy items like cucumbers or cherry tomatoes. I spent more on my meatless salad than my mom did on one with shrimp in it.

They also put the dressing on the scale which seems kinda BS.

I sent someone to one to pick up some fresh fruit for me to make a fruit salad in short order for company. The strawberries were obviously old. They were mushy. There was another fruit that wasn't fresh either. I sent the person back to get a credit if they didn't have a fresher product. Magically, they were replaced with fresh fruit. It was pricy and I wasn't paying for nasty fruit. I'm not sure I believe everything is cut fresh that day.

I've wondered about Chicken Salad Chic also. They have a display of the chicken salad you can take home. They claim to make everything fresh daily. I haven't had an issue as I've only been one time, but I'm not buying the everything is fresh daily. I'm suspicious.

Cut fresh each day doesnt necessarily mean the precut fruit is fresh. I dont blame you though for taking it back. It shouldnt be served if it looks like shite.

Once thing, they don't cut the stuff good. I wanted some red onions but they weren't cut right, they had huge chunks and most stuck together. The eggs are cut funny too. The best trick ive ever learned for preparing eggs for salads is to push boiled eggs through a fry basket. Get perfect Cobb salad sized tiny cubes.

Yeah a lot of them are regional. Sweetgreen and TenderGreens are the most common ones in this area. Sweetgreen has been around for quite a while, it's definitely not a new concept. I have an SG right next to my office - very convenient for lunch.

Agreed. The cucumbers are cut too thick also. Maybe we could send in a suggestion.

There was one in Tampa called Sweet Tomatoes. All you can eat salads, soups and some pasta. It was clean, food was delicious and fresh.

Sweetgreen is a good version of what you are looking for. It's in CA, Chicago, NYC, Philly, DC, Boston off the top of my head

I know Houston has at least one now. My SIL lives there and was very excited when it opened.
